Checking for info in D.C.

So far I have evidence of some odd behavior. Anyone got any information on why the big nasties that play on the hill are afraid to send their pets into the slums?
I have found that even in a hostile pursuit, the pets that have been being sent after me drop pursuit once I get more than a couple blocks into the slums. It's been getting a little annoying, as it's hard to capture something that breaks off after some invisible line of demarcation.

The answer is the slums are full of their own nasties.
And Me.

Well you don't mind if I use your hunting grounds as a bolt hole to try to get some of the uglies that play at politics to make some mistakes do you?
Figured I'd at least be nice and check with some of the locals before I start making things get a little hot.
Oh ya, if you keep tabs, me and a small couterie of bloodsuckers had an argument over my current dwelling, count another 3 dusted, I am worried about the one though, she almost made a snack of me while I "rescued" the little girl. So be on the lookout for a 4,5" 60 lb girl with copper blonde hair and green eyes.
Oh, and Caliburn, I hope I am not making too much of a mess and driving too much of your prey back into the deepest of the shadows.

Glad to see you have em straight, Caliburn. Even gladder to see you got your little girl back, I'll spring for the ammo and range time if yopur telling the story. (I collect the ones with happy endings, reminds why I got started.)
Be a little cautious in the slums Caliburn, I fouled up some of the plans of a group of reptillian humanoids, big nashy teeth, 3 eyes stacked verticaly. I don't think their are many of them, and they sure do hate the "leeches" from what the 2 I saw were saying. If DC has always been this hot, my hat is off to you for keeping your fight in the shadows, Caliburn.

Not sure I'm familiar with this breed... Care to fill us in, Konrad? Or is there a thread I can check out?

I think there's something in DC that works hard to keep what's going on out of sight and out of mind.
The Blight is rough, but it doens't contain enough gunfire that my shots blend into the background - but i've rarely had to worry about crossing paths with responding police - even without my friends in the department.

They are Sowki, the same thing that killed my mentor. I have not heard of them running in groups, egos get in the way of that.

Caliburn, I used to be one of those "things" as you put it till things went south and my team got a bit more information than we were looking for.
I still want a nice long talk with my former handler, just to make sure he is still human before I waste him for selling us out in Seattle, hopefully when I start with the questions, he'll sing like a canary - I always hated that part of the job.
Michael, are they know to be coerced by something bigger? From what I overheard the three of them did not seem pleased to be working with one another, but were more worried about "what if he knows".
Sorry Caliburne, i would have got more information, but was in a hurry and didn't wait to listen to what they were saying.

This is more than just official cover ups.
Something keeps people from noticing even when I am blasting away with a shotgun outside their window.

Possible, I don't want to think about what would have the power to force these loners to coexist. Sowki are always loners as they can not stand the idea of shareing power, I would imagine a very powerful supernatural creature would be able to force them to work in concert.

For some reason, I think I remember someone posting long ago about a group of these Sowoki thingies.

If something can force Sowkis to work together, than it has to be powerful.

Well, 3 discovered, 2 terminated during contact, 3rd dead from unknon causes after capture. Bastard tried to gnosh on my arm, got a hell of a surprise when he shorted the servo power leads. Anyhow he cam to and started thrashing, nice and healthy like (you know they are healthy when they are explaining in detail how they will extract your organs and steal your soul as soon as they get loose). I start askin questions, and of course it rolls over and offers service to avoid destruction. Problem is as ssoon as the SoB starts spilling the beans in that annoying hiss of theirs, some blue light surrounded the subject as it screamed and shook, then began to glow and smoke. By the time the glow spots left my vision the bugger was ashes on the breeze.
Just wonder what pulled the strings, my best leads just kinda shrivelled up and blew away.
