Arson Gang

After the arrest of the arsonist we believed to be responsible for the crimes perpetrated in our area, things quieted down for a week or so. Yesterday, a man was arrested for attempting to ignite the gas tank on a squad vehicle in the neighboring station's parking lot. Today, the arresting officer is dead, burned to death in his bed, beaten and restrained with chains. All officers from that station have been pulled to high alert, and surrounding communities are pulling together resources to find the group responsible. Those detained are as of yet uncooperative in questioning. It's currently believed to be gang related, but aside from the late officer and the attempt on police property, motive has not been detected for the other crimes. Legacy, I'm sure you've got your hands full with this situation also. Anyone else who has any information on a gang dedicated to perpetrating crimes with arson, any information we can get at this time would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like something else, gangs liek to make sure people know who they are.

Yeah, that's been troublesome in of itself. We don't have any specifics on it, yet, but we know it's an organization of terrorists, apparently composed of local men, based solely on who we've apprehended so far. We're still investigating further into the situation, you can bet on it.

Terrorists like to have an agenda to push - any manifestos or such?

Local men? A grassroots terrorist group? Are they possessing supernatural powers and whatnot?
Look for the patterns.

No supernatural powers that we can see, though someone's welcome to check them out if they happen to be in the area. They generally operate using ordinary household items, making the tracking of their weaponry nearly impossible. Another two have been apprehended, and arresting officers are under close surveillance for their protection. In addition, aside from police. targets seem to include minorities, help groups for women and children, and one veteran's rest home.

Interesting list.
While one target seems out of place at first glance, in truth they all have a theme - groups that can be perceived as being a drain on adult white males.

You seem to have been pretty damn close, Ron. In the past weeks, we've made a small series of arrests for arson and connections to this cult - and yes, we have confirmed that the cause of the burnings are for vengeful and religious purposes. The biggest reason they haven't been more loud about their "cause" is to help cover up who they are, and make it more difficult to track them - Keeping apparent motive out of the mix can put a little bit of a stopper on certain aspects of the investigation.
This group started out simply protesting large catastrophes - you may remember a group that chose to protest America at ground zero after 9/11, and the same group protested military funerals and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit? A group of dissenters has apparently broken off from the main-stream portion of that... religion due to a lack of results from their constant picketing and protesting. The movement seems to be primarily restricted to this geographic area, but other departments from around the nation have been advised to keep an eye out for certain trends.
Thus far, the best we can surmise as to why fire is their means of attacking is a connection to bring "hell on earth", so we may know how wicked we are, or something. Possibly the scariest thing is that the attacks don't seem to slow any. They would appear to be very organized, and only send out a certain number of cultists to attack at a time, with very specific goals in mind. Tracking down the headquarters has thus far yielded no fruit, but we believe we're ever getting closer to the truth behind this depraved group.

Would have posted sooner, but the cleanup after our raid on their headquarters was really tolling. I think this op has finally reached it's conclusion, more or less - and for once, I don't think there was a demon or other supernatural entity to be found. Just a bunch of angry, bigoted white people, which can be just as dangerous as any supernatural baddie.
