The acidic fumes from the vinegar keep some of the unseen at bay. The idea is along the lines of why some creatures like vampires and some fay cannot cross moving water. The etheric is disrupted.

Then any creature rooted in the etheric would be held at bay?

Any idea which creatures are affected by this? Is this a universal remedy or just a Russian one? Any idea what effect spraying the vinegar ont hem might have?

My luck I'd try it agaisnt a demon who isn't up on his Russian folklore.

I think it's the vapour of natural evapouration.
Good question, Ron.

It is the vapour indeed.

Just splasing one with a vial of vinegar is not really going to do the trick.

These creatures are rooted in the unseen bits of reality, and vinegar vapour affects that... sort of like running water will wash the unseen bits away, which leads to its destruction in the physical.

A strong Sun can flood the unseen much like running water. That's why some creatures don't venture out in the day but can take the weak light that reflects from the planets and the Moon.

I hope that makes sense. It does to me.

It's this whole upward existence thing I don't get.

So if it's vulnerable to sun and water it might be vulnerable to vinegar vapours?

I use a modified OC grenade to mist holy water and garlic oil for anti-vampire purposes, perhaps I should add some vinegar?

Give it a try.

It's not going to diminish your combat effectiveness.

And if it gives even a moment of hesitation by the monster, always better for you; could be the difference between life and death for you.

The only doubts I have is getting enough vapour; keeping it in a bowl in your room gradually fills the room.

And also makes your room smell like ass. I personally hate the smell of acetic acid.

Makes me want french fries.

The OC grenade should mist the vinegar to fill a room almost instantly.
