A Lazlo Society blood bank?

There is a thought.

Also a fair enough question, and likewise one that while I do not wish to deal with I have had keep me up at night before. What is more valuable, the life of one or the lives of many?

There is a saying that I believe I may of posted before. "Stop instead of hurt, hurt instead of maim, maim instead of kill. In all things use the least amount of force needed." I believe I would follow that progress as far as it took to serve the greater good.

Besides if I let her run rampant, what life would she have once the entity did it's deeds and left her to face the consequences?

True . . . but not the issue

A valid sentence . . . the one that I am serving, to be precise.

But it is not the point. Nor do I make any presumption that you would choose otherwise. The point is we are all often faced with circumstances that we do not like or would rather not face. But we must.

Because such is life.

Such is unlife.

We do the best with what we are given. That is all anyone can fairly ask of us.

But there is a difference between you and a possessing entity. When a possessing entity arrives it takes over the body, but the person possessed still lives. As we know, once it leaves the person is as they were before more or less. The possessing entity does not know what the person knows and they remain separate although they inhabit the same physical body. The body continues to live and breathe in this situation.

However, with a vampire the person is destroyed/absorbed when the infection takes place. The vampire might have the former person's memories, but the person is forever lost. It is a human body animated by whatever makes a vampire exist and without it the body becomes what it really is, dead.

I would not look at someone turned into vampire the same as someone possessed. If my daughter became a vampire, the best I could do is remove the twisted thing that remains from this world and recover her ashes to mourn.

(Edited to clarify my words).

I would take no pleasure from it

And I am guessing that you would not enjoy it; am I right?

Would you like to send our colored cousins home again, my friend?
All you need to do is follow the Worms...

Sorry, DarKnyght... Thought of that quote from "Pink Floyd The Wall" when you mentioned sending home those who don't belong... There're a lot of people who feel that peoples of minorities don't belong here, and we should send them home. By that logic, us white folks should be sent packing back to Europe, too.

We can't just make a carpet statement that we need to send everyone home; for better or worse, we have houseguests. We most assuredly need to clean out the unwanted guests, but some of these guests can't just be packed up in a suitcase and shipped out on the next flight.

And by the way, just as a side-note, not all possessing entities leave their victims alive. Ms. Darken, her friend, and Ben Holister all found that out recently, the hard way. There are other creatures that do things similar to what that Brain Burrower did to that poor girl...

But back to the subject at hand...

The more beneficial paranormals have been around longer than civilization has. Thus far, no mage, mystic, or psionicist has discovered them feeding on anything noticeable (or at least, anything disagreeable) to remain here...and we've had millennia to do study them. Maybe they feed off of energy or something; I don't know, and to be honest, I don't particularly care. If they're not causing harm, and they are bringing about beneficial results, then they're welcome around me at any and all times.

If they turn out to be malignant...well, sucks to be them.

See, as hard as I try, someone always says it better.

Lazlo would not like that kind of mindset.

Azrael's of course.

I was praising your (KT's) language.

I would respond by asking how many human civilizations have been wiped out because another civilization's god told them too? The god was beneficial and good for the surviving civilization but not so much for the lost one.

In the case of minorities, I am not proposing sending anything that naturally belongs to this planet anywhere. I am just wanting to evict, deport, remove, or however you prefer me to say it anything that is unnatural to our world. If it helps, see yourself as a border guard for our planet and that the borders are closed (no one in, no one out). Think of it as a inter-dimensional isolation policy.

Your brain burrower is not a possessing entity as I would define them. Again they take control of the body, but they do not as you said leave the victim unharmed. Again I would ask what kind of life would someone you saved from something like that have afterwards? Would it be the same as before, because there are far worse things than death.

How does one draw the line regarding what is and what is not natural to this world?

The natural things of this world leave natural remains when killed. Unnatural things would be those things such as the thing that was in Private Dic McVay's haunted building. When they are killed they dissolve into insects or something similar and soon even that physical evidence is gone.

I would also say entities that forcibly take possession of another living being in order to exist here in this world would be unnatural. I would also say that these are the most dangerous ones there are because they purposely attempt to disguise themselves among us.

But, I would throw that question back to you because even from your standpoints all of you are making decisions between what is natural/unnatural, good/evil, or benign/malevolent. It is just that your standards are a little more open than mine.

KT, they are not guests.

They are invaders.

Not more open. More precise.

No sense in destroying something that does not deserve to be destroyed.

Some are, oddly, invited by deranged or evil people who either think they are doing good or intentionally wanting to do evil.
