Ugh... Today at work was, if possible, worse than the last two days...and the last two days contained a snowstorm and weather as cold as my wife when she's mad.

And then, at the end of the day...ugh.

Ok I'll be the first Huh.

I got out to my car after work, and three girls and a guy, all right around my age, were standing around behind my car, talking quietly and shivering in the cold. Despite being bundled up, it's fuckin' cold out right now...

Well, I see people standing around in the lot all the time when I'm pulling into it in the morning, and I was so tired, I almost didn't think much about it. I fished my keys out of my bag and went to unlock the car, saying "Excuse me" loud enough that I'd hoped they'd get the hint and move.

One of the girls called out, "Oh, uhm... Kon...Thaak?" I winced. She'd pronounced it more like "Khan-Thack" than "Kohn-Thock". Nevertheless, she seemed to know who I was, and I definitely didn't know her...

"Yes...?"

"We were hoping you'd let us come along with you tomorrow night..."

"...no. G'night." I started again to get into my car.

One of the other girls spoke up. "We're not asking to do it for free, Mr. ****..." I hesitated. I had planned on re-introducing myself here on the forums, but I hadn't done it yet...and she knew my name. I looked up, frowning. "Okay, where the hell do I know you from?" I didn't bother keeping the irritation out of my voice.

"We know you're going to DC to visit your friend Ron, and we know that he has the ashes of our friend... We'd just like the chance to say goodbye."

I frowned, hesitating. "Ron's struggling to find room for everyone as it is..."

"We've already made hotel reservations for a hotel and a rental car up there... We just need a ride there."

I sighed, rubbing my eyes. "I'll see what I can do for you..."

She smiled at me. "Thanks..." Then the four turned and walked away...

Well I was wondering when they would show up. I guess I just got my answer.
