Is he realy that off in those statements? Who knows who that blood could have gone to, some types of which are much harder to get then most people understand. Maybe we can replace a bit of A or B, but a specific version of O-?
And anything that does feed off of humans is a threat to innocents, as a species. Maybe individuals differ, but that's an Individual issue, not a racial one, isn't it?
You add that information to the fact that Ron DOES hold back where it comes to non-humans vouched for by his allies, and so far the only argument you have is that Ron MIGHT kill a vampire that doesn't hurt innocent people. How is he to know? How do ANY of us know if we have a target to hunt? By them causing harm to people.
The same terms that Ben started sniping on, becoming judge, jury, and executioner. Who has the right to decide where the line is, between innocent and guilty? This doesn't just apply twards Ron, it also applies to your friends.
So when do we decide who has commited an evil act? A vampire that feeds only off of drug-dealers, or Ron when he takes it down?

I agree with Caliburn 100%.
If it threatens that which is mine, I see it dead. If it threatens me, I see it dead. If it harms a child, I see it dead. If I know that it will become a threat to me and mine, I see it dead. If it takes that which is mine, I see it dead.
And to think Caliburn and Holister don't care for such a kindred soul.
Master Li, are you all right?

Without an aplication Power is worthless.
HWy do I condemn Ron. Its his hate I condemn.
If I may play the role of Master Li but for a moment.
" Hatred is an ever expanding fire that eventually cosumes all that it embraces; even itself. "
Rons you have to stop fueling your hate, your rage that you have keptburied for too damn long.
You are not your father, and the more you try not to be, the more you eventually turn out to be like him. Who do you want your sister to see, you or your father when you rescue her.
Let it go, stop finding excuse for your hate, your pain, your rage.
Celeste is still a human being. I know better than anyone else here what it is like to someone elses mind fucked plaything for their depraved satisfaction. I don't blame her for her past. I look at her and thank God that she was able to break free as I did. That she was able to turn her back and free herself from the monster she was and into the person she is now.
And I will damned in Hell if I have to listen to your bitchin' bout what is human or not, what is right or wrong, and what has the right to live and what does not!

"Too serve and protect", somethin' bout that gets a lil' blurred when dealin' with the supernatural.

Ya know Shang, you might want to consider that thought for the day in the other thread a bit more and figure which of us is the monk and which is the samurai.
Not that I think it reflects the situation exactly, but I think that might wreak a little havoc with your Zen for a while.
Anyway.
To paraphrase what I have said in the past, I am a threat to what threatens us. Something that would find itself driven by hunger to consume an innocent life . . . no matter how well intentioned it is, is a threat.
If a monster consumes an evil man, I shed no tears. But if that monster would just as happily consume an innocent child . . . I'll feed it a steady diet of 12 guage, magnum, 00.
Celeste, for all her good intentions, will likely admit that if she had no food for days or weeks, and she found herself alone with a child, that she would hunger for that child's blood. That is what scares me about her. This is why I consider her a potential threat. However, you folks keep making sure this won't happen, so for now I'll leave her alone.
Bearshaman, for all his training, deep down inside feels the tug of the moon and hears the howl of the beast. I'm sure he's worried about what would happen if his discipline slipped. I'm worried too. So I keep my ears in Las Vegas wide open in case I hear of what sound like werebeast attacks. He's already contemplated a silver retirement gift once . . . if he does something that warrants it, I will be there to provide.
Bloodbane knew what he was and the evil he could wreak. He tolerated his own existence long enough to do some good. Then he chose to die.
I respect him for that.
I don't mourn his death this weekend.
His death happened long before we met him and all that died this weekend was the twisted shadow of what he once was. What died this weekend was a threat to innocents. Bloodbane knew it - why don't you?
But as I said, the sum of his deeds are not ours to judge at this point. They never were. We just have to deal with the facts of the moment and our best understanding of the future.
I don't seek to judge or punish monsters (human or not). I seek to protect people and I send those monsters to where they will be judged appropriately.
So when I consider vampires a threat, I am not judging, nor am I hating. I am stating that the fact that a creature that hungers for human blood and is effectively immortal will have means, motive and opportunity to injure or kill innocent folks. This makes them a threat. If it's an imminent threat I deal with it immediately. If it's a distant threat I make plans for the moment that I have to head it off. Or off it's head, whichever.
Now, I just got back from doing what I do out there in the Blight to protect the innocent. I have another mystery to work on, and I need some sleep before I get to work tomorrow.

The arguing ends. Now. Here. Finito. Done.
You all have made your points. Regardless of what comes of it, I will not tolerate anyone who threatens to go after another Society member, regardless of the reasons. If any member of our society willingly harms an innocent, they aren't truly members of Lazlo, and need to be put down.
HOWEVER... As that has not happened, I do not appreciate people I respect leveling threats--promises--whatever--at someone who has done no wrong.
Ron's prejudices are his own burden to carry. I have heard a number of people crying at the pity pot over Celeste's burdens... What of Ron's? He openly admits that there are members of the board he considers a threat, because of his prejudices. Yet every day, he fights the desire to go after those threats, because there are those of us who vouch for them.
Much as both would probably like to strangle me to say this...in that respect, Ron and Celeste (and, for that matter, every other "threat" on this board) are the same.
I don't care who agrees with who. Celeste is right; we're here to protect people, and right now, there's a town full of people who may be threats or victims. There are people in that town who have already become victims. Some of us need to focus our attention there, instead of uselessly bickering.
So consider this the end of this discussion. Your local neighborhood druid is telling you ALL to bite your tongues.
Just to reiterate... There will be no more talk of hunting each other. There will be no more threats leveled at one another. There will be just a little more understanding of each other.
Discussion dismissed, unless someone has something pertinent to the original topic to discuss.

I take it I am the only one who finds such statements out of character for the involved parties?
He does sound somewhat like the Master Li my father described, and that worries me.
Mr. Caliburn, I understand actions, not words. If something is a threat to your concerns - eliminate it. It realy is that simple people. Morals have no place in business, or battle.
