I'm glad to see that I never made it on the list.
Ron my old friend how are you doing? It's been so long since last we spoke. Really it's been a long time since I've spoken to anyone. Who's still around from the old days? I've been a bit tied up since my "incident" in Europe and have only just re-established my organization, so my intelligence is less then real time at the moment. So please do tell.
Oh and Ben should you happen read this...is my cabin alright?

No.
There is not.
This and other posts on this site are figments of your imagination.

thank you very much.
P.S.
if it helps any friends of his,he died fast,he didn't suffer.

I’m sorry to hear that, Match-Stick. I never personally corresponded with Biggie, but it always saddens me if one dies before their time.

Well I am happy to report that my name will not need to be added to this list. Sorry if anyone was worried but certain family issues forced me underground. It's good to be back.

I know that there have been a few times when people thought to add my name to the list. Or wished they could...

You may remove my name off the list of the fallen for I am still among the living. If only by a small margin.

I wonder how many of the old guard still stand? The world keeps me so busy. I miss the days when i wasn't in charge...when i could just go out and do my own missions...without filling out all the paper work.

I never wanted to post here.
I just received a call from Technocrat's wife. Police found him a short while ago. He died of a massive wound to his chest. The investigation is ongoing but no foul play is suspected. It appears to have been an accident. Apparently he fell onto a peice of heavy equipment although I don't have all the details quite yet.
Tomorrow I will begin the long ride to Winnipeg so that I can attend the funeral and offer comfort Bokkai's young wife. Or rather widow.

He was helping us search for a few missing people. They are safe, but I am not sure if that had anything to do with what happened to him.
He will be missed.

My condolances for Technocrat's family. Sometimes it's easy to forget how dangerous this 'profession' can be.
PS: Thank you again for your help, Ronin. You're the reason I'm not on this list.

I can't say I was really good friends with Technocrat but we did run in some of the same circles and our interactions were always friendly.
I will miss seeing his smiling face and my heart goes out to his family.

In Arabic, we do use the term "martyr," but it has a different definition than is found in English or any of the Latin-derived languages. It means "one who was called to Heaven." I did not meet this man, but if fought the good fight and performed good deeds, he is surely a martyr.

Funeral was today. I'll be meeting with Cessiel shortly to see what he knows. And tomorrow I've been asked to be present at the reading of the will.

Techno helped us out quite a bit in the past.
He will be avenged, count on it.

You can say that again.
Do we know anything else about Technocrat’s death?

Do we know yet whether it was an accident or foul play? Maybe I should try to getting all the information on the board before I ask something that’s already been answered . . . .

It was most certainly foul play. He was betrayed by Cessiel, a fellow board member and someone he was helping to investigate a shadowy death cult. I suppose I should have posted the updates here.
I’m sorry to read that.

There are two investigators I wish to eulogize here. They were never members of this community but they both died serving it.
The first is Jake Banner
Mr. Banner joined the police force right after University. He quickly worked his way up to detective. It was as a detective he started becoming involved in cases where conventional answers just didn't fit the facts. As a man who always sought the truth, how the authorities dealt with these cases didn't sit well with him. In fact it caused him so much frustration that he left the force over it.
It was in the private sector that he found a place he could call home. An organization that sought the truth and also to protect people from the strange things that lurk in the secret places. As well as a paycheck that allowed him to support his wife and three daughters.
At fifty, he was five years away from retirement and five weeks away from being a grandfather.
He died as he lived, seeking the truth and trying to protect others. His family mourns his loss and so do all who knew him.
Working with Mr. Banner on his last mission was a young man and fresh new recruit named Jason Collins. Mr. Collins was a fairly ordinary young man. Jason was a member of his high school's football team and a decent academic achiever. He had a rich social life and married his college girlfriend right out of school. His parents and surviving grandmother were all very proud of him.
He grew up curious about all things supernatural. From ghosts to faeries. From Men in Black to Black eyed children. So when he heard rumors of a detective agency that researched these sorts of things, he knew he had to be a part of it. And when he learned that these things often threatened other people, he knew he would have to do what he could to stand against the darkness.
Both of these men died a couple of days ago. They died in the war that Victor Lazlo warned us about. They fought against slavery and oppression. They fought for freedom. As is often the case for soldiers, they did not know the people for whom they were fighting and dying. They knew only that if they did not take a stand, there would be no one else to do the job in their place.
Was the price paid by these two gentleman and their families too high?
Only if we take lightly their sacrifice.
Only if we surrender the freedom they died for.
Only if we fail to oppose tyranny.
It is only in these ways that their sacrifice becomes meaningless.

Mr. Banner and Mr. Collins are people I would have sorely liked to have met.
This mission on which they perished was being done to save myself and Clarity from a very dangerous situation. Their sacrifice for our benefit is something I will never allow myself to forget.
I hope to express my thanks and my condolences to their families in person soon.
Hannah
There might yet be another . . .

There are many who may not have given their lives, but still their sacrifices have certainly been a very high price indeed. Part of a difficulty that surfaces is when we don’t know whether they are alive or dead.
