Alright, how should I outfit myself, never hunted vamps before. I've already got a dozen wooden stakes, a squirt gun, holy water, garlic, and Karlash. I need anything else?

shiny bullets, as many as you can manage
more holy water
more garlic than you think necessary
Globe of Daylight somehow
more stakes, long ones work well if you cannot get close
a hammer for your stakes
a holy symbol

a desire to face some scarey shit

Hmmm, maybe we should ambush them when they go out to hunt. Catch them in the open. If we can eliminate their leader before the actual attack we'll have a significant advantage.

Down by the river - a convienient place to dispose fo the dead, bt vampires hate water - I suspect they have a few people who get rid of bodies for them - and probably guard them during the day.

So Ron, would you be willing to tell me how to manufacture some of those Garlic and Holy Water grenades?

For sure - how much expeirence do you have with Pepper Spray Grenades?

I also have a bunch in stock I'd be happy to send.

Well if you have 'em ready to ship, maybe you should just send a bunch directly to DarK and you can show me how to make 'em in August.

What's their effective range/blast radius?

by Ron Caliburn
They will typically create a cloud that will keep Vampires at least 20 feet awy from point of detonation. A good breeze can carry the effect a fair distance, but decreases the longevity of the effect.

A vampire caught in the initial detonation, is goign to take a coupel of minutes to recover as they will be soaked in the mixture.

Very nice. Will it affect them in Mist form?

Posted: Thu May 03, 2007 2:41 am
by Ron Caliburn
Not sure - it will mingle with them anyway - so they will be in real trouble if they de-mist in the area.

Ever tossed Holy Water at a misted vamp?

I can't say that I have.

Well, I suspect it will be our answer.

Operation was for the most part a success. Thanks Bert and Pendragon for your help in dealing with them.

We were waiting on Bert to get there, when the package of gear came in his place. The crate was loaded with a small arsenal, including some of Ron's special grenades. Most of the stuff I couldn't even identify let alone use properly, but Pendragon took quite a bit and showed me how to use some of the simpler gear.

We arrived at the theater at high noon. The sun was out and only occasionally hiding behind a few sparse clouds. We made our final check on gear and headed across the deserted parking lot.

The building was once a six screen cinema. The walls were faded and the lettering for the company had long since fallen off. There was graffiti sprayed on the walls and random litter that had collected over the years. The entrance was a classic style one with a ticket booth in the middle and entrances on the sides. All of it was boarded up.

My observation over the past few days had noted that one of the boards was actually hinged. It was designed to look like it was nailed tight but swung freely from the top to admit someone. We moved the board and put our nightvision goggles in place.

The inside was dirty, but not as messed up as a deserted building should have been. There were signs of upkeep being done, with the dust not being even along paths. The plan was simple, activate the sprinklers and deal with the threats as they were melting. But as I am now used to the best plan goes to hell once you make the first move.

Good observations prior to entry are always a boon.

I'm glad the stuff got there in time, how'd it perform?

Performed as well as you have described. It was an chilling sight to see something disintegrate flesh like that, even if it was undead flesh.

Sorry to let this post go a little stale.

As I said, the plan was to go in activate the sprinklers and do clean up as the vampire were confused, slow and melting. However, it didn't quite go as smoothly as we hoped.

We quickly made our way towards the closest spot that there was a fire alarm. Pendragon went to set it off without alerting the fire department, while kept watch.

The place was old, the few remaining posters were from the late 80's. Anything that was of value had been ripped out of the place. You could still see the outlines of the food machinery on the walls where the grease and dirty had caked over the years. You could tell by the smell that rats had moved in. Everything in the place screamed of death and decay, and the vibes I got from it were unnerving.

After a few minutes, we realized that they had cut off the relays to the main system. The only hope now was to get back to the mechanical room and set the sprinklers off manually.

We started moving towards the back with Pendragon in the lead. We managed to get halfway to the door we needed when someone jumped out at us from the shadows. His motion caught us off guard and he took Pendragon down with him. The struggle was short and the man was out before he could sound an alarm. However, Pendragon had taken a knife wound. At the time it did not look serious, so he insisted we move on (however, it caused some internal damage, and Pendragon needed medical help when we were done). I hoped the noise didn't bring the vamps running.

We proceeded much more slowly from that point on, since there were not just vamps in the building.

Figures - they wouldn't be in that sort of place that long without taking some time to neutralize possible avenues of attack.

Yeah, the one that jumped me was just one of their day guards I suspect. Reason for believing it was a guardian? It bled when I stabbed it! After dealing with the deranged lunatic, we continued on to the mechanical room. The door was obviously locked. I had the team stand back as I checked it out. I knew it had to be booby trapped somehow. And it was. Fortunately I was able to disarm it. It was a nice trap though. Claymore aimed right @ the door! We then made our way into the mechanical room where my skills as a mechanic (didnt see that one coming did ya? ;) ) came to use.

Pendragon started on getting the sprinklers going as again guarded our backs. I moved to the side of the entryway and wondered if I was really a necessary part of this op outside organizing it.

It was then that I saw the second guard creeping up towards the door. This one was packing a gun. I knew if it went off it would be game over for our op, so I quickly aimed and put a bullet into his head. The suppressor Bert sent me worked perfectly (Thanks again). This one wasn't vamp either, because a trickle of blood slowly leaked from the opening as he fell.

As I started checking the body for a radio or anything that would signal them working together I noticed the bite marks in his neck. It was then that I heard the click of the sprinklers kicking in and shortly after that the screams of pain started coming from the screen rooms.
