Next time I'm in D.C. I'll have to make it an extended stay and teach you guys the hand to hand style they taught me in SpcOps.

I dunno, after my encounter with Zak and Zeb, I'm feeling a little more confident about myself in that regard.

A nut-shot and a tazer blast? Yeah it was awesome, but you didn't exactly fight them.

Exactly - why get into a risky fight when you can take them down before hand?

I'm pretty sure most SpecOps folks would agree that's the way to go.

Oh, definitely. Do you not see my blowing things up/dropping them in mine shafts/etc.? But invariably, especially for you Ron, you're gonna get into a real fight sometimes.

I've been in plnty of them. I've learned that a real fight usually lasts only as long as both combatants are willing to fight.

As soon as one is willing to turn it into an assault and battery instead, the fight usually ends pretty quick.

True.

But, I'll say this: I don't run out of ammunition often. But when I do I'm thankful for every stitch of hand to hand training I have. Every time I dodge a vampire's attack and stake it in the heart, or toss a bogeyman out a window, or disarm a crazed cultist, or tackle something trying to eat someone, I thank God for my old hand to hand combat instructors.

I ain't no slouch, but I generally prefer to turn a fist fight into a gunfight at the first oppourtunity - ideally when they don't have a gun.

You sound much like Kenji did, young one.

I thank you for brightening my day.

I think it was his son if Im not mistaken. He would of course know better than me.
He doesn't usually tlk about his family. Still a wonderful and great man man to get to know. Also make a great cup of lavender & chamomile tea.

PS: Ok Hannah, I changed my "sig". We can't have such language around young ladies.

Hi Ben,

Yes, he told me the story.

It was so sad.

Hannah.

PS: I am glad you changed your signature, it's much better. Funny how I could read the other one, isn't it?

Just to make sure I'm not imagining things, your signature used to be in Gaelic, right Ben?

Hey Ron;

A daughter. Never saw that one coming. She reads Gaelic too.
Wow; you go your hands full there pal. :D

I thought it best to change the sig now that your daughter was going to be on the boards.
It just seemed proper. Thank me later.

Yeah, my life is a whole lot more complicated now - but I haven't stopped smiling in almost a week.

I'm glad you changed the signature . . .but as far as I know, she's never seen Gaelic before she saw your signature.

Anybody have any ideas how she could learn to read a language she's never seen before?

Hi everybody,

If it helps y'all ta answer my Pa's question, I didn't actually learn to read it. I just read it.

Does that help?

Hannah

PS: The new signature is much nicer though.

Hi Ben,

Possessed? That's not a good thing.

There was a few times I had been visitied by the Holy Spirit back in the compound though.

It was amazing. There are no words ta describe what it's like.

Hannah

PS: I hope it's the first one too.

There is another thought on what it could be, has anyone ever heard of the idea of genetic memory? Considering some of what was being attempted in the compound, I would guess it is as likely and moreso perhaps than Possesion?

Maybe so.

Didn't you have some sort of strange linguistic event when you were visiting Hannah's Dreams?

Yes I did. Hannah was singing in a odd language, but it was not Gaelic as I had first thought.

Could it be some sort of psychic thing Ron? Maybe your little girl there is gifted.

She is a remarkable young lady, Mr. Caliburn. I would be honored to be allowed to meet such a kind heart.

Did you know that an inborn understanding of a certain ancient tongue is one of the ways the reincarnation of the Dali Lama is known. (very slightly related interesting fact - not all such gifts are from dark sources, after all)

Guys... I hesitated to say before, but Hannah has some pretty strong ties with fae energies. She's got talent and potential as much as any mystic I've ever met, and her energies felt like I was with a greater faerie the entire time we were escaping from the compound.

What does it mean? I dunno; could mean any number of things. I'm not putting my money on any of it for right now...but it could explain the Gaelic thing.

Hannah, whenever you're settled in and such, I wouldn't mind helping you with your abilities and talents.
