At the time, yes, a good bowman was a superior warrior to a good musketman.

However, it took 10 years to train a good bowman and 10 days to train a good musketman.

Goes a long way to explaining why one of the Kings of England made Archery with the longbow the only sport allowed in medieval times.

And that explains why the English kicked so much tail during the late medieval period.

Incidently, some of the british folks who mustered in 1940 to help protect britain from the expected German invasion brought longbows or pikes with them

And the Polish brought their swords and horses to World War II.

I've been saying for years our gov't should be sponsering paintball tournaments and the sport in general.

So long as it is not the waste of time and paint that gets television air time. Woodsball is the only way to play, if you ask me. But no one asked me...

You can now add Dele Morte to my list.

Hopefully you get to start taking some of those names off the list, puting them in file D, for Deceased.

Yea, that would be great.

Right now I feel so stretched thin... and my list is very short, but very difficult.

I'm doing what I do best right now. Cleaning out the Blight. Once I feel I'm back in shape, I'e got one outstanding engagement on my calander and then I'll have a clean slate to taking part in the big problems again.

A clean slate would be nice. But we stumbled into something huge here - probably take us through the year before we start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck with that.

I need to clean house first.

Well if you don't mind western calibres, I have lots of speciality goods available for you. If Putin's footing the bill I'll issue an appropriate receipt.

They should change the name of the thread to "Pendragon's Hit List!". For some reason that sounds like it would invoke more fear in others. I know that respect is good, but I would prefer to be feared. :D

It is always better to be respected than to be feared.

Tell that to a 5 pound rabbit able to keep an 90 pound dog at bay. I kid you not. :D

Fear can be overcome...

even in the animal world - although I would not base my life philosophy on rabbits and dogs.

Fear may be overcome; but is it not fear that keps us alive. Is it not fera that keeps us from doing the stupid things in our lives that would otherwise be deemed reckless.
Is it not fear that makes us repect the punishment for our actions?

And is not courage not acting without fear, but acting in spite of it?

Wow...Ive been hangin' round with Master Li too much :D

Fear is natural, sure, and the good thing to have. Maybe overcome the wrong word? Maybe I should said managed?

If you constantly fear the boot on your chest, you will never rise. If you manage the fear, your can throw the boot off from your chest and rise. That is when the dictator falls.

No, not necessary that fear makes you respect punishment. Respect for authority means you understand you will be punished, and accept it.

Courage is not in spite of fear, courage is managing fear.

Then I suppose we hear the same metaphors differently over here. :D But the premise is the same. Most debilitating treactions, including fear, are good for us, though in small doses. To live without fear, makes you foolish, reckless, and a Republican.

Ok, maybe not a Republican, I just threw that last one in there to see ya'll were payin' attention :P

Heh, if a girl's life weren't on the line, that would've been hellaciously funny.

Unfortunately, the mode of mind I'm in doesn't have much room for sense of humor. But as for the Demon-hunter, I helped him out already.

How premise is the same?

Fear punishment and respect authority... not the same at all.

I was a little confused, too.

When he frees up, hopefully he can clear it up...
