I don't know if this helps but...

The last activity from Nemesis' cell phone was this post.

After that, it goes dead as does GPS tracking.

I tracked the last known signal to a hotel room. It was taped off by the police. I managed to sneak a peak as I walked by. The place looked like it had been shot up and than ransacked. No signs of blood though. Of course, I only got a glimpse past the rather unpleasant looking police officer.

Asking around at the scene confirmed that the maid service found the room like that around 10 am EST today. Nothing was heard so perhaps the attackers used silenced rounds.

No blood? Hum. Thats a good and bad sign. It means that Nemmy may have survived, but at the same token, so are his persuers.

Or there simply wasn't any left...

Like I said, I only caught a glimpse while walking by.

Maybe there was tons of blood and I just couldn't see it.

Ok, between the death of Ron's wife and this, we need to seriously pull our act together. By now either the FBI or DHS will be involved. If anything gets traced back to the Society, this place will be scutinized with a microscope daily.

I have a few favors I can call in from people who owe me favors. I was savin' these for a rainy day, and it looks like stormy weather.

Don't ask who or why, but I can see what I can do. Give me 48 hrs is all I ask. Beyond that, I'm affraid I can't get personally involved once I cash in my chips.

I know you like being reactionary and all that, but think about it for a minute.

Technocrat has no idea what was happening at the scene or had happened at the scene.

You should probably save it until you know what precisely is going on.

Wie, you're working with Nemesis? I don't know how, but I'm glad to hear that he isn't dead.

I remember what KT told me about what happened to my father when the nightmare went after him - ripped out whole chunks of his mind and used it as it's own. It was still not even years later, though you helped finish fixing it.

Do you think that the nightmare took stuff from Nemesis?

I so wish I could help him, but I know he's got one of the best people out there to help, and one of the few who've dealt with the stuff the nightmare can do.

Ben, I believe in Wie, she can help him.

Don’t count Nemesis out just yet. Shattered minds are difficult to piece back together. Give me time.

Can you be certain that the mind you've identified as shattered and belonging to Nemesis isn't just one mind of a team of minds called Nemesis?

That sounds complicated, doesn't it?

What I mean to say is are you sure that the person you're helping is the only 'Nemesis'?

I am the only Nemesis she was helping.

And for that help I owe her a great debt of gratitude.

She won't accept it, trust me.

Then again, she's kinda funny about the way she repaid my father, so maybe you should kinda hope she doesn't.

Well one of the reasons Wie stayed with us initially was because she felt that she had a debt of gratitude to my father to work off.

You may find yourself having to cook and clean her house before this is over.

Well she does that well for herself, maybe she'll find something else for you to do.

Indeed. Let us hope.

I can burn boiled water. And since I've lived in hotels and motels since my da's death, the cleaning services have managed to convince me that clean rooms are something that just happens.

Maybe she'll get you to teach her how to shoot - my dad was always kinda leery about letting a blind woman handle firearms.

I suspect I already know what Wie will be demanding and while it's not a price I wish to pay, I really have no choice in the matter.

*EDIT*

Miss Grace,

I sincerely hope you didn't read this before I had a chance to edit it. If so, I apologize for my previous lie. Especially to you after you tried so hard to help me. I will now honestly answer your questions. I just wasn't ready for the truth before now. I hope you can forgive me.

I am the woman you helped.

I'm pretty sure the man you saw was the ghost of my dear ol Da. It's nice to know that he's still there for me.

I hope we can keep being friends, despite past lies. I will try not to do it again but as with my cussing, I may slip from time to time.

Thank you for helping me.

P.S. I'm sorry for hitting you as well. That was an accident.

Would it help if I rephrased it then?

Only you can really answer that question. But I think it helped.

Demand? No . . . only demands made by yourself . . .

Demand, Nemesis? No; only a request. Remember, you always have a choice. The request I made will be a difficult choice to follow through, but it is yours to take, nevertheless. Nor will you take it alone if you don’t want to. We’re here.
