Sort of when Ron rescued Hannah from his former cult.

Sorry to ask what may seem like a kinda dumb question, but am I the only one who'd call the authorities? They've got the manpower and resources to deal with cults, I sure as heck don't.

Well after Ruby Ridge and Waco - the authorities like to keep their distance unless they can confirm there is definitely something bad going on inside.
For example they had rumours of bad going ons at the FLDS compound in Texa for years - but they didn't do anything until they got a tip from someone living inside the compound. Even then, I've heard most of the kids they rescued ended up being returned to the compound because they didn't have enough legal evidence to keep them out.

So they're pretty darn cautious now, I can live with that. It ain't perfect, but what is?

The cultists can live with it too.
Or rather not get killed because of it.

As a father I have to say I am proud of Hannah for her role in this thread.
In regards to my dealings with cults, there are only two types of people in cults - those who are victims of the cult and those who make the cult work for them.
The key to success is to figure out which is which and break the hold of the latter over the former. Once that hold is broken, the cult falls apart like a house of cards ina hurricane.
Violence is rarely the key to that, it's usually psychology.
Of course, you have to protect yourself well enough to live long enough to apply the psychology.

And when Ron and I broke up an entire cult without killing or even seriously harming a single person. I admit I kicked a guard in the nuts with enthusiasm...so what.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone been tracking cult activity?
I'm curioius to know if there's been a noticed upwards spike in activity.

While your information has been somewhat helpful, you are just one person reporting on what appears to be one cult.
If requesting more information from a wider audience causes you to throw up your arms in disgust and quit, then perhaps that is for the best. In any case, I am interested in information, not theatrics.

Your previous statement irritated me; Alot. If you want answers, then go out and look for them. Apparently the information I provided was deemed meaningless. Or is that just more theatrics.

This response is clearly more theatrics. I did not comment on the value of your previous information. If you get irritated when people ask for information, that is
your problem. You have chosen to get irritated and over react to the comment.
Such behavior is not helpful.

If by "those" you mean a rational, thinking individual, then yes.
Now, do you have some information to add or would you rather continue to derail your own thread with attempts at casting aspirations and further theatrics?

Yep, you are.
But to make you happy, and state my point. This one cult has ties to a few dozen others. From the lil' one composed of religious wack jobs and would be devil worshippers, all the way to doomsday terrorist sects.
This one "[i]cult" supplies information, connections, supplies, financial backing, weaponry, magic, and at times man power if need be just to make our lives that much harder.
They are like " Cults "R" Us " . My theatrical point is that if we started following their activities, we would have alot more information about abunch of other cults.
But what do I know.

I feel like that old TV police officer.
"Just the facts, ma'am."
Still, thank you for finally contributing something more useful than emotional outbursts.
You mentioned devil worshippers. Do you have more specifics along that route? And demonic connections would also be appreciated.

Postin' on a computer is emotional? Ok, thats a first.
Anyway yes they provide to demon cults. However from personal experience this sledom pans out because most of these smucks have no idea what they're doin' and get killed by the thing they summon, or they're just patsies that are being manipulated by other forces. This is about 98% of the time.
The remaining 2% are the ones with organization, true leadership, and the force to back themselves up. These are the ones ya' gotta watch out for. They have the real means to summon up a world of hurt both in man/fire power, and supernatural power.
However even those more powerful cult tend to stick to demons and entities they can control. They seldom bite off more than they can chew, and the seldom make their activities public even though they do often have apublic face in the form of a ligitimate business or political agenda.

Good luck then. It will requires alot of man hours, foot work, and information gathering. That is if ya' able to find them.
Secrecy is essential for these cults, so they are very difficult to find.
The best way to find them, follow the money.

I've noticed they're not terribly accomodating about putting up websites and blogs on their activities on the internet.
So you're saying these guys are getting substantial financial backing? I met be able to set up some programs to do some tracking for me.
Computer become emotional for me . . .

It is for me, Ben. One of the reasons I’ve been on so seldom lately is because of the emotions I feel. As for my experience with cults . . .
Well, I’m still trying to find out more about this particular vampire cult, “The Clan of Darklight and Rebirth.” The They are extremely twisted, but are otherwise “harmless.” I put quotes around the word because they are also extremely volatile. Should Ondirtacher be replaced . . . they could become far more dangerous or even dissolve completely, depending on the people involved.

Believe it or not, look for high end money launderers who are the best in the area. Especially in larger cities.

Hmmm.
Vampires have occasionally proven to be wild cards in these situations. Cults dedicated to them could do likewise.
Ah, and Mr. Holister, I do beleive it. Is there a specific city or cities I should pay attention to?

Los Angeles is your best bet. Then there is Detroit, Chigaco, Texas - Dallas or Houston (due to their closeness to Mexico) if your looking for vampires anyway. Then there is New Orleans, Miami, and DC.
Not so much New York for some reason. Might have to do with the sigil under the city.
Anyway, those are your best bets.

Cybermancer, the 2% you claim to be after - the elite with real knowledge.
You can trace them through the very knowledge that makes them dangerous.
Old books containing lost secrets are out there. They are also incredibly rare, to the point of being something that should be easily tracked.
Old artifacts bearing real magics likewise exist, and are likewise rare.
Magic is not as reliable as it once was, you know the dates and times of alignment, seek out the (un)holy places they need to perform their powerfull workings.
Sellers and collectors of rare and antique books, Sellers and collectors of artifacts from lost civilizations - even if they do not understand the nature of the "treasures" they deal in and collect, they are normally quite well versed in the history and whereabouts of the items they have collected, as well as those items they wish to add to their collections.

Shang Li,
Some helpful advice there. I shall heed it.

I'd try the museums and universities while you're at it. People who deal regularly with archaeologists will know who some of the less noble members of the field are, which are the most likely suppliers of occult materials you don't find in shops. Plus these people can be dealt with off the record, no useful paper trails.
Find one of these guys and they might be able to point you towards a cult contact and you only need one hit to start tracing the membership, assuming you have the time and resources for that kinda thing.
That's my two cents at least for what it's worth, best of luck.

My god-father spent time as an archaeologist. He got quite a private collection of artifacts during that time. I may be able to tap him for assistance.
Although I'm not looking to deal with anyone, on or off the record at this point of time. At this stage it is merely an information hunting operation. Too many times I've seen big fish get away because people got occupied with the small fish.
If I dig anything of note up, I'll relate it here.
