There are some new laws in this town this summer. Read up above. It's been harder and harder the last few months do patrol and protect without police interferance, especially in my prime unting spots.
I'm sure that when this sort of stuff get to the Supreme Court it will be struck down, but waiting for that to happen will leave me bankrupt, even if I wasn't involving my lawyers.
I think this Pyopas woman has something personal with me.
I might just decide to stop by her office, it's not like I have anything else to do right now.

If you need some backup when you see this person, give a yell.

Well I think I'll start off in broad daylight, in her . . . Ted's old office. That way I atleast know what she looks like and she won't be able to do anything without a witness.

Be very careful, almost sounds like something wants to keep you from hunting the supernatural, by infiltrating the law...

I'll agrre with Deimos for once, Caliburn. Someone is keeping information and specialists critical to the sucess of our missions on my side of the fence, while we are pulling down more missions than ever before, with the bodycount coast to coast starting to look like a small war.
At the same time contacts and assets critical to your sucessful performance of a very welcome service in a timely and discrete maner are being interfered with.
I fear something fishy is going on up on the hill, and I don't think it is election politics as normal. (Although it would not surprise me too much to find out someone was pulling the strings so they can "resolve" the problem once they get their next office.)

"Most" but not "all", I hope. Do you still have some stuff at home to keep your family safe?

I called Red, and he sent me files on some fugitives we think are hiding in your neck of the woods. You could pick them up for the normal cut, and the only thing left in your shop would be furniture. If you're interested, I can PM you the details and mail you the credentials you'll need.

Fortunately my house lays outside of the zone where the city's new laws have ffect, so they can't do anything about what's at my home unles they have just cause. Still with what they took from me, I'm pretty sure it will be easy for something to be found connected to something or other, even if it really isn't.
I am taking steps on making sure the rest of my kit stays secure.
As for taking a bounty on a person, never done that before. I'd need some details.

You were saying that they needed just cause to search your house? Be very careful. Hannah's trouble at school, the weapons that they already confiscated or even someone reporting that you are a threat could be construed at "REASONALBE CAUSE".
If you have someone you trust, big if there, have them hold the weapons and kits for you in their basement or someplace, and make sure that its not someone that is known to be a backup for you.
Just a bit of advice.

Sure. I'll go over the process from the beginning, though I'm sure you're familiar with some of it.
There was one cat, I'll call him P. His girlfriend called police and told them they were having a lover's spat when P poured gasoline over her and started going through his pockets for a match--he actually asked her, "Where is my lighter?"
She got a warrant for his arrest from the magistrate, who at the same time set P's bail. The cops picked him up, he bonded with my old boss's company, and he got a court date.
He never showed up.
Now the company is out over three thousand bucks. That's where Red and Frog and the rest come in. If they find the cat, and bring him back to Indiana for trial, they'll get 10% of the bail money.
If they drove to DC and spent a week looking for him, that wouldn't even cover their hotel room, so none of them want the case. You already live there, though, so all it would cost you is gas, and some of these are more valuable than P. I just used him because he was on top of the stack.

Diemos, I know and I've been taking measures in the time it seems to be taking them to come up with one.
Willie, been doing some sniffing 'round the internet. To make it legal I gotta get a liscence here in DC. The liscence comes form the police. I doubt they are going to let me do somethign without making sure there's a uniform with his hand in my back pocket everytime I step out the door.
That being saidthere is no liscence required to give a tip to a bounty hunter and my existing PI liscence lets me look for people on behalf of a client.

Hmm. I thought the company was already licensed in D.C. I'll talk to the "legal department" on Monday, maybe he'll have some ideas. I'll also pass your idea along to Frog, see if he'll jump at it.

Thanks.
I appreciate both the thought and the effort.

Kelly gave me a call today. She’s doing well; graduated from high school and going to college in S.C. We unloaded on past happenings since we last talked, hot boys, slovenly roommates, quizzes . . . the works.
Though I have my suspicions on why she called me today of all days, it felt wonderful to have a long and overdue chat with her.
I’ll leave Ted for Ron to tell—if he cares to. Though if he doesn’t soon, I may rescind on that decision . . .

I bet that this "Lace Pyopas" is a member of the "Night of Cult" and was "transferred" in order for the Cult to have an inside person!
Ron, if you need someone to hold a backup kit of yours, you know I got your back!

The truth about her was far different actually.
