A very interesting encounter.

I have found and delt with a creature that I have only read about and heard stories of from other mages during times my mentor has had meets for old friends. A Nacarant, also known as The Scarlet Hunter. A very interesting creature that starts as a blob of scarlet protoplasma, goo for the people who prefer simpler terms. The blob has no movement ability and lies in wait for a animal or human to touch it. When this occurs the mass engulfs the limb of the prey, in about half a hour the victim is covered completely and dies a very horrible death.

Now it gets interesting, in about 10 to 12 hours after the victim dies the Nacarant takes thier shape and begins wandering in search of more prey. The creature looks like a slime covered corpse of the first victim, and will kill by tooth or claw to feed, and the incorparates the new victim into it's body. The Nacarant is now storeing the life energy, PPE as Dr. Lazlo called it, which it absorbs at the moment of the victims death. Then the Nacarant grows a new face on it that resembles the victim's distorted features. The creature is very much a animal intilect, very much insane and driven to kill.

The creature will continue it's rampage for 5 days at that time it explodes into a scarlet goo and as many things we face all evidence dissapears. Unfortunatly this may not be the end of the Nacarant, if it was capable of absorbing enough energy it will split into two Nacarants, each starting as a blob of goo.

The Nacarant are immune to physical attacks and poisons, psychic attacks and fire are effective, fire seems to do more than "normal" damage.The Nacarant also regenerates damage inflicted on it at a very fast rate, a severe burn could be healed in only a few hours.

If a victim is infected the only way to save them is amputation of the infected limb.

Lucky for me I know quite a few spells that deal with fire and pure energy force also works. If you see some thing like this please stay at distance to deal with it, better yet get help to deal with it. The Nacarant fears fire and this can be used to contain or heard it for those of the Society that do not have magic or psychics at thier disposal. Hopefullly this proves to be helpful to the Society if any members run into one of THe Scarlet Hunters.

Gasoline, petroleum jelly and an open flame...very basic, works very well. Took me a month to regenerate the tissue when the idiots we were trying to save from some grave ghouls thew on me.

Either that or equal parts gasoline and styrofoam mixed together until it turns into a goop, nice and flammable. Either that equal parts orange juice concentrate and gasoline. Then there's the whole melted and heated detergent.
