Greatins' From Maine

I've been ponderin ths now since my "KINETICS" post. I don't think its the gun thats the issue here, it the ammo. As I stated a good deal of firearms are illegal, especially those with real stoppin power or may considered automatic. So I've been thinkng....how about a shotgun shell that has a universal anit- beastie factor of 10!

Hear me out on this one folks; I am a country sheriff with gunsmithin credentials. A shotgun cartridge, most likely a cmmon 8 gauge will suffice; but we replace the lead shot with a combination of blessed rosaries, silver pellets, and rock salt. Maybe another with a mix of blessed iron filings and white phosporous for good measure. Now those some good hunting cartridges. It'll quite deffinitely cover all your bases.

Think bout it.

That really should just about do it.

Throw in salt for good measure, though.

Well I think I can produce about 20 shells to try to start with. I want to be sure they actually work before offering them to you guys. I should be able to finish production by Monday night and take a few pop shots at that $$^$^#@%^^ Hell Hound stalking the woods. If they work, Im gonna need some field testers. Ild give about a dozen or so to a handful of the more experenced shooters here and see how they work. Any further R&D beyond that depends on the field tests. (I said R&D) Ive been hangin round Dertik too long. b-(

The big problem I see iwht this is you're trying to ram too many things into a really small space. The result will be tha you hae a round that does somehting to everything, but doesn't do much to anything because it doesns't have enough of any of the above.

Well Ild like to somehow get this idea of mine to work. Maybe a grenade with the same affect. Any how I could really use some imput here, and if you got any ideas Ron, or any of you weapon engineers out there, I like'd to hear them. Drop me a line.

You could always use a 4 guage. It'd almost tear your rm off from the recoil and you won't get many shots beofre you have to reload, but you could at least cram enough stuff into that inch wide barrel.

Or, since your an LEO, a 37/38 mm riot gun would have plenty of payload posibilites, not much muzzle velocity.

Semi Auto?

Post by Bearshaman »

Take a fully auto weapon, fill the clip with a variety of shells, one wood, one silver, one blessed, one cold iron, ect. That way when you open up on full auto something should penetrate and cause some kind of damage to your target.

As for weres, we may be able to regenerate damage at an accelerated rate, but salt rock still hurts like a mother, and doesn't get shoved out quite as quickly as lead bullets.

The problem with automatics is that it is fairly difficult to obtain automatic weapons. I myself only only one, and thats all Im trying for cause Im in an LEO position to possess such a weapon. Besides it would take far too much time loading a magazine wit alternatin rounds like that. Im looking to construct a single all purpose round that can make a majority of the supernatural, nocturnal, evil SOB's stand up and take notice. A single all purpose round would make our job that much easier, and if can find a way to do that, then my efforts would be worth it. Heck, I would even send em out FOC (thats free of charge) to those who ask for em. We's all gotta stick together in this line of work.
The cloest I've gotten to big bore is an 8 guage double barrel elephant gun. Hell of a kick, but it blew a nice hole through 4" of oak plywood. Thats firepower.

I may regret saying this because not to many people can even get accses but a true General purpose round is a DU round and they do make them in the more standard caliburs. So you understand these work on anything with a physical body and biology and messes with any regeneration as well, very nasty.

Depleted Uranium.

It's mildly radioactive isntead of highly radioactive. Carrying aclip round on your hip all the time will probbaly dose you enough to get you a cancer after a few years.

It would be cheaper to fire platinum bullets and I have no information to support (or refute) any enhanced capabilities against supernatral critters.

So I rather disagree with the dea.

How about this for an idea....a 40mm shell, SILVER, that when it penetrates explodes with the force of frag grenade...but loaded with rock salt and silver flachettes.

Well, sounds nice enough, I suppose but Im lookin to make a convienant round that is simple in design. I also don't wanna loose my " parts " carryin round ammo if you know what I mean. I still think a heavy gauge round is my best bet, or the 40MM option. I can easily get both and produce a series of test rounds with varying flachete combos. If it works...Im still gonna need field testers. Shades & Ron appear to be the best gun jocks, so maybe Ill try dropin them a line.

40 mm

Post by Razor »

Well, I was wanting to be the one to suggest the 40mm idea, but alas, I wasn't available for contact on the boards. *sighs* Really and truly if I had a way to aquire a 40mm right now, I'd take you up on your offer Ben.

Personally, I like the two variations of the 40mm shell. There's the rifle-grenade, and then there is the shot-shell they have. Most people outside of the Army and Marines don't know about the second variation, but my brother was part of a mortar group and was one of the two guys on his team that carried the 40mm. He also made a point to carry one of the LAWs that his team had. Scored expert pistol, expert rifle, expert grenade, expert grenade launcher, and expert LAWs. I actually learned a fair bit from him. Wish he wasn't all the way up in Ohio.

I happen to know a guy who operates an LEO supply store. Named Ron. I think he has a launcher or two in stock.

Greetin's From Maine

Well, now that the mess up here in Maine is done and over, Ol Holister here has got some time to head back to the workshop and do a lil bit of tikerin'.

I've been working with a multi purpose 8 guage shell, iron shot 12 guage and 8 guage rounds, a tranq rifle round that injects holy water or acid or straight cyanide. I've also been making soild cast silver AP .50 rounds, and a holy hand grenade (thats right), just chock full of whoop ass.

Ive also got my hands on half a case of thermite (buddy of mine sent me down some) and four cases of TNT (Old man Tucker was blastin Gophers gain'). I was thinking of a .50 Thermite round with a silver or iron case (for penetration) and a thermite core for the bad hurt.

Drop a line and let me know what do ya think.
