A bad casefile
A bad casefile
I am currently clearing a DR 1313 case from DC that is approximately 2 months old. I have managed to convince the surviving victims that they were traumitized by seeing their friend ran over by a streetsweeper, so their minds made up a fantastic story to avoid the memory. Unfortunately that still leaves a beast stalking the streets of Georgetown, slipping into and out of the shadows, taking victims at will. Without a Tactical Response team available, I am currently without any assets to destroy the beast.
If there is anyone in the greater DC area who is interested in puching this nasty back into the shadows to stay, respond here or drop me a line.

Now why did you go and tell people that what they saw wasn't real before you came to us for help? Part of the purpose of Lazlo is to help prepare the populace for what really is out there.
Re: A bad casefile
Figures, for once I ask for help in shoving something back into the shadows so it can't take victims at will, and Caliburn prefers to beat his dead horse about education. Tell ya what, bub, get yourself elected president, make it into the high offices of a 3 letter agency, or have your congressman get a bill passed. Till then, bub, I am gonna keep doin what I do: Pushing nastyness offa the streets and back into the shadows where it belongs.
Now, Caliburn, you want the specifics? Or are you too busy bustin my goddamned balls to go hunting?

Well if the elections weren't rigged that might be an option.
Anyway, Georgetown isn't far out of my usual hunting grounds - what is the scoop?

Alright, according to the reports the nasty is stalking the local public transit. Seems that these people were attacked by their own shadows and torn up real good on their way to their cars. Different stops each time, but all of the reports that landed in the 1313 fall on a 6 day pattern, with only 9 days of the pattern not having a report.
All reported attacks have been local undesireables, never with any survivors. Hell there probably wouldn't even be a 1313 on it if one of the pimps that got torn up and ate wasn't a local cop's informant.
The exact cause of death from the local coroner was "Misadventure" in each of the cases, all with very similar ripping and tearing with even the coroner commenting in his first report (2 coroner's reports on each case, not particularly unusual in 1313's) that it looked like the bodies had been "pulled apart".
The part that is troubleing to me, is that where it started with individuals 18 months ago, it has moved up to pairs since the beginning of the year. It's also been becoming more and more brazen, no longer waiting untill the victims are alone.
If you get the nasty, I'm greatfull, but any further information on it that does take another 1313 helps.

I'd love to help you Mr. Logan (for the usual fee of course) but I'm afraid I'm a little far away at the moment.
Should the problem persist for the month or so that I expect to be gone, then I will be happy to provide you a discreet (and affordable) solution.

Re: A bad casefile
So let me get this straight, it's going on again off again in a 15 day cycle? When were the last noticed attacks?
I bet if you look back far enough you'll probably get a rash of missing pets when it first moved into the area. Too bad the police don't track those.

Re: A bad casefile
A six day kill pattern, starting 18 months ago. Can't be quite 100% on the six day pattern, because nine of the days it should have killed nothing was added to the 1313. But nine holes in a ninety incident pattern does not leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I'll check with the local humane societes, and see if there was a change in their activity patterns when this should have started.
Watch your ass out there Caliburn, I don't want to see another tactical asset go down in the area.

6 days . . . I wonder why it's so regular.
Re: A bad casefile
Why do most people eat three meals a day at more or less the same time?
Nutiritional needs + routine.

Nothing from the humane societies on that side of town, but they said that strays there are more likely to get eaten by the local population rather than brought in.
Wish I had more, if I find anything else on this one, I'll make sure to forward it.

Well I hit a snag last night. I've been trying to get soem patrolling in on the 6th nights to see if I could encounter the beast. I was getting ready to go again last night when I got an unwanted guest at my house.
I have been mapping the locations, it looks like it's slowly working its way toward the campus.

And me tied to a desk with no teams to handle, this figures. I let the local precinct cheif know about your presence and what you are doing. Cheif Anderson's a good man, he'll help keep the local authorities off your back as much as he can. Oh, and Caliburn, if you catch him in private he says he may be able to offer "unofficial aid" as well - he's helped close some 1313's on the area before.

Re: A bad casefile
Thanks for the reminder.
I found the creature . . . I think. It seems like it was masquerading as a dog . . . or dogs . . . it was a very confusing fight and I'm not honestly sure I got them all.
I do know it's been about 3 weeks with no activity so it looks like I did enough damage to whatever it was to drive it off.

Well, no new 1313's for a good long while. Excellent work, Caliburn - you either killed em or em loose their tast for man-flesh. Saw a couple stray cats in that neighborhood on my last pass through, a promising sign.
Thanks again for the assist, I didn't want to leave behind an open casefile as th elast thing I worked - let me know if there's anything I may be able to take care of for ya.
Anderson says don't double park next time, that it gets rough keepin the vehicle from getting towed. I am also supposed to inform you of Anderson's gratitude for solving a 1313 in his juristiction.

I'm more concerned with keeping kids from getting killed, but your welcome.
