Phantoms and Monsters brings us a story about a young girl that bleeds through her skin without any cuts.
Is this just a medical condition or is it a sign of something else?

Wow DK.
Where I grew up they would have celebrated a girl like that, calling it stigmata and setting her up to be a saint. One of my cousins even tried to fake stigmata so that everyone woud like her. She used to rub a hemp rope around her wrists every night until they bled. We caught her at it and her father decided to rub the same rope over her back until she was raw and bloody for punishment.

PS: She ended up marrying one of my cousins. I asked my mom about what happened to her and apparently they found her hanging in the barn last winter, same piece of rope.

I will be who I chose to be.

Yeah, I remember their being a movie about that although I never bothered watching it at the time.
I am sorry to hear what happened to your cousin. It is sad to hear of someone driven to such an extreme to seem important, and even more sad to hear of her fate. I hope that someday we can find a way to help the victims (even though I don't think they understand that is what they are) out.
