Is Bigfoot an Alien?

When you say the word "Bigfoot", many get mental pictures of a large, muscular ape with long hair sneaking through the woods of the American Northwest. Does Bigfoot really exist? If so, what is it? There are those who approach the Bigfoot question from a scientific point of view. Cryptozoology is the scientific study of and search for cryptids, animals which are beyond current zoological catalogues. Cryptids are often thought of as fantasy creatures and are ignored by mainstream scientists. Cryptozoologists, those who study cryptozoology, research anecdotes and legends from various cultures concerning creatures too fantastic to exist, such as Bigfoot (also known as the Sasquatch), the Loch Ness Monster, Pennsylvania´s Beast of Bray Road, England´s Beast of Exmoor (thought to be the motivation for the book The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle), to sea monsters in general. There are literally thousands of such cryptid tales throughout the world.

Some cryptids have been proven to exist. One example is the Coelacanth, a prehistoric fish thought to be extinct. Numerous anecdotes of the Coelacanth were obtained from South African locals, but its continued existence was never verified until 1938, when a specimen was found in a fisherman´s nets. The Okapi is a former cryptid found in central Africa. It appears as a combination of a giraffe´s head, a donkey´s body, and a zebra´s legs.

The Sasquatch is probably the best known and most highly sought after of the cryptids. They walk upright, standing between 7 and 10 feet tall, are covered by brown and reddish fur, with a heavy brow, pronounced nose and wide mouth, are reported to have terrible body odor, and inhabit secluded forested areas. Despite their reputation for living in the Northwest, sightings of the Sasquatch extend into Oklahoma, Texas, the Carolinas, even Georgia and Florida. They are also known as the Yeti by the Nepalese of the Asian Himalayas, Yeren by the Chinese, and Yowie by the Australians. You have to ask yourself how the same creature can be so widely known by so many relatively isolated cultures throughout the span of history and not exist.

The Sasquatch has many commonalities with Extraterrestrials. Both Sasquatch and Extraterrestrials are unlike anything we have ever known. Most descriptions of Extraterrestrials differ from anything residing on Earth, anything from 3 to 5 foot Grays with large heads and slim bodies to Reptilians that walk upright on two legs. Video of a Bigfoot-like creature was captured in Bluff Creek, California on October 20, 1967 by Roger Patterson. This video showed a creature standing more than 7 feet tall covered in dark brown fur, displaying female breasts and signs of previous injuries and damage at different points of its body, including what seems to be a torn right thigh muscle.

Both display clear signs of intelligence. Obviously, any entity that can develop and pilot an interplanetary craft has incredible intelligence. When an extraterrestrial entity is observed, it is most often involved in such scientific endeavors as collection of soil, plant, or other samples or performing medical experiments on unwilling abductees.


Among physical trace evidence found in the study of the Sasquatch are dwellings or nests constructed in the forest from surrounding branches and flora in a fashion resembling tents. The Sasquatch has even displayed several methods of communication, from grunts and loud guttural yells to hitting two large branches together, and has been known to respond to attempts to replicate these sounds in the field.

Both are incredibly elusive. Upon sighting, Extraterrestrials tend to leave the area in an expeditious manner, usually by way of a craft that displays performance qualities not equaled by Human technology.

The Sasquatch tends to remain concealed when near Humans, and has sometimes been known to harass hikers, campers, and Bigfoot researchers in various ways, like throwing rocks at them. No physical remains of the elusive Sasquatch have ever been recovered and no living Sasquatch has allowed itself to be captured.

The National Institute for Discovery Sciences, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, conducts ongoing research at several locations in the United States, one in Utah that is referred to as the Skinwalker Ranch. Dr. Colm Kelleher, PhD, a biochemist and molecular biologist, was one of the lead researchers at this location. In his book Hunt for the Skinwalker: Science Confronts the Unexplained at a Remote Ranch in Utah, he reports that numerous anomalies have been recorded at the ranch. These included visits to the area by numerous types of UFO-like and Extraterrestrial phenomena, such as lights in the sky that alternately flew through the sky and hovered, giving the impression of intelligent control and operating much like an aerial surveillance and observation platform, as well as actual sightings of saucer-like craft and entities. Sightings of a creature closely resembling the Sasquatch was also observed and monitored at the ranch. Both Extraterrestrials and the Sasquatch were observed appearing through portals in the air. Witnesses have reported that they have sometimes had glimpses through the portals of landscapes different than that in which the witness stood, appearing almost alien in origin. These anomalies have been recorded extensively by research scientists.

With both anomalies, Extraterrestrials and the Sasquatch appearing at the same location in much the same manner, a direct connection between the two is naturally and allowably assumed. Is Sasquatch also an alien entity, an Extraterrestrial? Is it considered wildlife from another planet or dimension? Is it a "pet" of Extraterrestrials, being "let out to exercise", much the same way Humans allow their pet dogs and cats out at night? Naturally, we have no answers at this time, only speculation based on circumstantial evidence. Making this connection, though, makes for some interesting thought!

I would buy that it is an undiscovered species long before I would buy into a theory of aliens.

But that said, interesting read.
