I'm not dead, yet

Post by Razor »

Little bit of an update, for those that care to know anyway, I'm not dead. I didn't exactly fall off the face of the planet.

And now that things have settled down and things are finally straight around here again, I have gotten together some new equipment so I shouldn't drop out of contact again for a long long time. It's also probably going to stay quiet around her for a long time too, I hope.

This city has been pretty cluttered and dirty, but with lots of work... it seems okay for now. However, when taking one of my team members back to the other small hole I used to live in, Axiom, Spike, and myself all spotted several shadow people or watchers. They paced us for either twenty or fourty miles. I don't like that, considering its been a couple years since I have seen them.

Oh well, what can you do. Least now it looks like I might actually be able to enjoy life again so far. I'm working in probably my second highest paying job I've had so far, working in the documents department of my company. Before too long, I should be working as an imaging tech there. I'll be putting in long hours this week, but it's good. I should be purchasing some weapons, maybe this weekend.

While I'm thinking about it, any of our other gun-experts got any comments on the M-1 Gaurand (dont ask me about spelling, its too damn early in the AM.)

It's old, heavy, sturdy, and has a relatively low payload that has a very distinct sound when you run out of ammo.

Personally, I'd look at something else.

Nice to see you again, Razor.

Much of what Kolya says is accurate, but he also missed it fires a very powerful round accurate out to 600 yards without optical enhancement.

But if you are looking for a combat weapon, there are much better choices ut there, many of them cheaper. Most Garands out there are collectors item's now - or in really rough shape.

I'm only asking because I have an opportunity to buy several in good condition for $75 to $120 depending on. Legitimately, no less.

I don't expect to really be using these firearms for supernatural purposes, unless say.. I happen to run into zombies. If that is the case, I will have a suppressor on it. If I can, I would prefer to engage at a long distance. Mostly this is a 'fun' gun, for me. More than anything else.

Anyway, I'm back, I think. Sorta. Depends.

Definitely more a fun gun than practical weapon in this day.

Suppressor won't do too much other than make it less unpleasant to fire - muzzle velocity is way too high.

Mmm. Lets tell everybody in the valley we're here, shall we? Oh and while we're at it, lets give away our position. Greeeaaaat. Yeah, um.. if you could just do that for us, that would be...*sips coffee* .. fantastic.

:P

Not saying a suppressor won't do anything, just that it won't do much.

Unless you're using subsonic loads.

Thanks, Lumberg.
You traded in your wings
For everything freedom brings
You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means

Everything that you feel
Is everything that I feel
So when we dream
We shout....

Hi Razor.

Garand are fun, my grandfather used to let me fire one once in a while. Knocked me on my but half the time, but when I could hold it steady I was pretty good with it.

Finding a dead body is usually far more positive proof than we get around here.

Where Robin is concerned, of course it's not positive.

Still not dead. Nice to see the facelift. Guns make me happy. That is all.

Oh, and this area is rather noisy, psychically of late. (Meaning my current location in Texas).

I dunno. If I do move, I won't be out of contact for very long, now that I have at least some measure of means at my disposal.
