Good news for the Concrete Angel!
Good news for the Concrete Angel!
Hey, Susan, I've got awesome news! If you saw my other post first, you already know this, but...
I've got a lawyer contact who knows a lot about the paranormal. He works up at Harper College as a professor, and he's agreed to do pro-bono work for you, if/when you need it. I've got his number posted on the fridge.
Secondly, I was talking to the UPS HR folks last night; as long as there're no convictions in your history, they won't have a problem hiring you. The next orientation for prospective employees is next Wednesday, and if all goes well, you could easily have a job by Monday, August 13th!
Sorry, I wanted to tell you last night, but you saw how exhausted I was, and you're still asleep this morning, so I'll just leave this here for you to find...
Shadow, I respect you a lot, but I don't think the problems she's facing overrides her moral and legal rights. Police can't force a witness into the protection program; they have to accept. Likewise, you can't just force her underground because she's in danger. She's safe, even when I'm not around. I've already got guardian spirits watching over her, and I gave her one of my protection pendants last week. Even in WCS, she's got enough backup to get out of the situation alive.
She told me she'd like to build a life for herself. That's what I'm going to help her do.

Between you and Shad, I'm just not sure what the hell to do anymore.
No, not true. I'll go back to NY. I'm gonna need that lawyer, though. I figure the sooner I get the cops off my case, the faster I can get on with things. So, step 1, clear my name. Step 2, find a good place to stay (and I KNOW what you're both offering, so I'll decide then), and step 3, get a real life.

You traded in your wings
For everything freedom brings
You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means
Everything that you feel
Is everything that I feel
So when we dream
We shout....
For everything freedom brings
You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means
Everything that you feel
Is everything that I feel

Perhaps Mr. Koyla would like some equipment to aid in his game of 20 questions? Once one knows the physiology of the human body and mind, it is very easy to design equipment that reads a bodies subconcious tells to determine the veracity of the answers given, particularly when given under durress. The only thing I have not yet found a way to get around is when the subject is telling the truth as he knows it.
Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.

UPDATE-UPDATE
Good news for me again! After a week of legal b.s., and something that definitely would have been rejected as a scene from CSI, I am no longer the prime suspect in the murder of my father!!!
From what I've been told, the piece of evidence that connected me to the crime was some old t-shirt, but it was something I hadn't even wore for years. (thanks Legacy!) The DNA sample I gave apparently ruled me out as a suspect, something about some unknown contribution. (I hope that doesn't mean someone's been jacking off in my t-shirts)
Also, as an alibi, one of "my guys" believes we can prove that I had been kidnapped before the crime was committed. I've got an appointment with a psychiatrist this week as well, so here's hoping for the best.

I've tried asking, but I apparently can't talk to him without making him freak out or something. Shad won't really say much to me about it, either.
