Re: Using this place as a sounding board
I'm overdue to say 'Hello'. Thank you for sharing your story with us. It's not an easy thing to do. I just wanted to say there's nothing wrong with having other priorities. The problem with this kind of thing is that nobody (well, very few) gets paid for it. It's an unpaid gig that cuts into your t...

I still rarely go to south Manhattan. I'm not sensitive to it as you seem to be, but it still leaves me feeling... uneasy. Anyway, this was an interesting read and I'm glad the boy made it home safe. I'm curious who this group was, but it probably doesn't matter anymore depending upon what happened...

I bloody hate Deathweavers.
I'm glad to read that everything went (relatively) okay, injuries aside. /as an aside, I couldn't imagine doing this business with children to think about.
Maybe I'll change my tune if I ever have some? Who knows.

Re: The Lay of the Werewolf
Perhaps a long time ago there was a strategic need to establish marriages between the species. Nowadays I'm not so sure. If trends of relationships and marriage hold true with humans as they do with therians, the saying 'You can't choose who you fall in love with' might be apt. I imagine it's not s...

31 doesn't feel so bad. The hangovers are a bit worse. Things still turn into frogs when I want them too - well, except when they turn into newts.

Re: Something Interesting - Psychiatry & Demonic Posession
I've had to refer many a traumatized client to someone with more skill at therapy than myself. Ghosts and demons that actually maniest in this world I can usually make go away. The ones left behind in people's heads, not so much. I've referred both therapists (Cybermancer's sister comes to mind) or...

Copperworking shows up very early in one form or another in the New World. The Andeans at the time of contact were superior silver and gold metal workers than their European counterparts, and likely the source of where the Mesoamericans got it from. So far they've never found evidence of melting, s...

Re: Toasters and talismans
The taser idea might not be a bad idea, but you might lose a bit of 'punch' in the conversion from a close-contact to a semi-ranged weapon. Some sort of talisman might still be necessary.
Interesting idea regardless.

I woke up on the floor of dipapitated house I'm certain I had never been in before, covered in mud and aching everywhere. No, I didn't forget I was telling a story from last post. I just didn't remember what happened after the doorbell rang, which probably means someone was messing around in my hea...

It didn't really sound like most things went down well there. Things went quickly after that. Goddamn they went so quick. The light show that was Erinyes drew the attention of the flying suits of armor. They'd have been crazy not to - she was literally on fire, and everything around her was quickly...

I'm curious how you got out of this. Clearly you did since otherwise you wouldn't be writing this, not to mention had family dinner the other night.

Part two of Gloom's mining town foray here. Personally, my stay in a similar mining town was equally unpleasant. It didn't take me all that long to find my target. Goddamnit she was good. I was nearing an old greenhouse missing several prominent window pane, handgun and knife in hand. My target had...

When one spends most of their life using a Germanic language, Romance (Latin especially) is just weird. I did consider those other meanings, but they didn't make a whole lot more sense. In general, the inscription is cryptic.

Werewolves Not long after I set up shop, I started hearing howling at night - a lot of it. After my recent encounters with therians over the psat few years, I took the steps to board up the house I had commandeered, warding it and loading silver into my shotgun. Still, there was no encounter until ...

Re: Adventures in Abandoned Mining Town Exorcisms
6 Ghosts There were six ghostly entities present at the site, a smaller number than I had expected. What wasn't expected was the unusual difficulty of their removal. Attempts to exorcise or banish them failed; they continued returning, more or less acting out some traumatic event in their lives. Th...

For the few of you intersted, we had a lovely day. We did dinner, a Broadway show, and a walk in Central Park, so overall it was a good night.

"The Assassin in the Shadow of the Redeemer" and "of Heaven and Hell, a great name was born" . That's the rough translation. My Latin's kind of rusty I'm afraid. I also frankly have no idea what it means. Symbolically, crossed swords in Christianity refer to the readiness to fig...
