Where is Dr. Lazlo?

Post by DroopyDawg »

Hey everyone,
I know there is a lot going on lately, but I came across something and it has me rather puzzled and has me wondering if this may truly be some kind of conspiracy in action.

I decided, since I was off yesterday, that I would do a little work on my Christmas wish list at Amazon.com. I have a small personal library of books dealing with the occult and supernatural, so I figured one of Dr. Lazlo’s books would be a good addition. My first snag came when I typed his name in to the search block at Amazon.com; none of his books came up. The only Vicktor Lazlo listed was a French/Belgian female singer whose real name is Sonia Dronier.

Thinking this odd, I then remembered reading excerpts from Dr. Lazlo’s book, “Worlds Within Worlds” a few years ago. So I looked for that on Amazon.com, and again came away empty handed. There were books named the same, one by Isaac Asimov, talking about Nuclear Energy, and another that talks about Chinese Scholars’ Rocks. (I’ve never heard of them myself.) Yet, there was nothing by Dr. Lazlo.

Getting a little perturbed, I figured that it was just a case that Amazon didn’t carry his books for some reason, out of publication or something. So I went to Barnes & Noble’s website to look there. I found even less there than I did at Amazon’s website. I have to admit I was quite confused at this point and not sure what to do next.

With a sudden flash of inspiration, I jumped on Google to have a look there. Again I came up with nothing. I did a search on Yahoo, Ask.com, AltaVista, and Lycos and found nothing on Dr. Victor Lazlo or his books. The part here that truly blows my mind, is that I know he spoke at a conference at Duke University some years ago, so I know there should have been something.

Then another inspiration struck, and I thought of the Library of Congress. No books are publicly printed in the US without their being logged in the Library of Congress. So I went to their website and did a search there. For the author, Dr. Victor Lazlo there is absolutely nothing, in fact his name is not even listed on the site. For the book, “Worlds Within Worlds” there are 17 books, none of which have him listed as the author.

So unless Dr. Lazlo used some kind of pen name or something, I could not understand why I couldn’t find his books. Then it dawned on me. Dr. Lazlo has no web presence of any sort. I went back and ran through my searches again and still found nothing. I must admit my level of perturbation was getting higher and higher.

As a last ditch effort I went by my local library to see if I could find one of his books there. Actually by that time I was just about willing to find any proof of the man’s existence. I looked though their computers and found nothing. I even found the right section of the library for the kind of books he wrote and again, nothing. I even asked the librarian and, though a faint hope, she didn’t remember him either. I asked about the paper index cards that they used to have, one last ditch effort, and found out those had been destroyed years ago.

So now I ask all of you, am I going mad? Didn’t the man this website is named after exist? If so how is it that I can find nothing on him? Not even a Wikipedia entry. This is why I wonder if there is some kind of conspiracy going on here. I mean I know that Dr. Lazlo disappeared years ago, but it is as if the man never lived.

Maybe you should've let them think that. Gotten some sympathy points. *Chuckles*

*Edited to add*

Thinking about it, something just doesn't seem right here.

Can anyone get in touch with Tabitha for me? I'd like someone to take a look at that girl's dream pool.

Ron, If you don't mind I would like to borrow a couple of Dr. Lazlo's books from you.

I am more worried about the fact that the man has seemed to have disappeared, after he disappeared. Mayhaps I'm looking in the wrong places for him. I still can't find anything on him on the I-net.

Hey now, I just want to make sure somebody isn't intentionally tormenting the poor girl, and I'd have Tabitha look so its not like I'd be snooping around.

Hey, if someone's following Ei, and you can shoot/stab/maim/whatever them in the act, it would most certainly prove whether or not it was Konrad.

Got to admit, if you take down the stalker and found out who it is. that would go a long way to proving Konrad's innocence.

I'd like a little more co-operation from the accused . . . otherwise misunderstandings might occur.
