Rokuro-Kubi Warning

This Posting is a warning to anyone in the Las Vegas area, I've been informed by a friend and contact living in the city, who observed and photographed a floating head in the vicinity of the Tropicana casino.
He sent the photo and I was able to identify it as a Rokuro-Kubi or Goblin Head. This creature is a malicious monster that feeds upon human flesh.
I would try and deal with it myself but I've got a vampire problem of my own that I need to deal with, so I will post what I know about these creatures and hope that someone else can deal with it.

The Rokuro-Kubi is a Japanese monster that detaches its head at night for the purpose of feeding upon human flesh. The head can fly completely silently and has Jaws that are more than twice as strong as a normal humans. The head is vulnerable to normal weapons and can be destroyed by normal means (i.e. Firearms, melee weapons, etc.), failing that if one can somehow prevent the head from rejoining the body by daybrake, then it will die a rather messy death (the headless body will start spraying blood everywhere). However, the creature is extremely intelligent and viciously cunning and will lay traps and ambushes for any pursuers, so be careful.
During the day the creature often passes as human, learning a trade to more fully blend in with its prey. The only way to identify a Rokuro-Kubi during the day is by the Japanese characters that encircle its neck. Like I said, Iwould deal with it myself but I can't, so I sincerely hope that someone else can. If anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer them.

Great . . . you ever noticed how there's been a recent fad of tatooing stuff around the neck?

yeah...I know what you mean. On the note of tattoos, you should also watch for anyone with extensive japanese tattoos on their body, as these may be Ise Zumi which sometimes grant mystic powers and are often associated with the Yakuza

Magic tatoos? that's about the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

Maybe, maybe not. The powers granted by Ise Zumi are almost never flashy or immediatly obvious, so forget about lightning bolts or levitation, instead the tattoo would enhance the subject in some way. For example, wouldn't it be helpful if you were strong enough and tough enough to punch your fist through a fire door? or be able to out run most creatures? these are just a couple of the possibilities of what Ise Zumi can do. Rarely, the tattoos had the power to summon animals in to life, usually things like Boa Constrictures or poisonous snakes/insects, primarely as a means of assassination.

Magic Tattoos, as dumn as they may sound, should not be taken lightly.

Still sounds hokey to me.

How am I supposed to keep an eye out for these things? Do these guys run around with their shirts off or what?

Hrm...one member of my team is from Japan, he's a huge burly guy with unnatural seaming strength...he has a komodo dragon tattooed on his arm...

That mean anything to you?

Well a Komodo Dragon certainly would be a creature of strength. the tattoos impart powers based on the image it presents, so a komodo dragon would possibly impart strength (as well as quickness). though most Ise Zumi are pretty large and complicated and are generaly located on the torso, it's not unheard of for them to be located on someones arms. Something to watch out for though, is that it's really really hard to get Ise Zumi from anyone other than the Yakuza, making likely that anyone bearing true Ise Zumi tattoos works for the Japanese mafia.

Well, Tak is former Yakuza...you may have heard of a few murders in Japan of highly placed Yakuza bosses a few years back (between 1999 and 2003 or so)...that was Tak, after having realyzing that his past employees were evil...

Ya know, if Tak took any time to figure out that a group of people who do the things the Yakuza do are evil . . . well he's not exactly the sharpest katana in the drawer.

Actually, he had been raised by them since birth, and was well and truly brainwashed...it took a long time to beat that mental domination...

Returning to the original topic: Consider the problem dealt with. I have a few contacts in Las Vegas. They used to be a sort of Japanese "Knights Templar." They were kicked out of Japan during WWII, when they objected to the sneak attacks on Pearl Harbor. I helped them settle down in Las Vegas, (Quite a shift from semi-feudal Japan)

At least one of them has dealt with this specific phenomina before, and all of them are known to carry, in addition to blades, very large guns.

They said that they were aware of the situation, and would dispatch the phenomina ASAP.

From what I know of WW2 Japan, I'm surprised they were allowed to live, let alone leave.

I'm even more amazed that a sizable group of Japanese men was able to settle in America during the period.

There are quite a few of these beasts in the area. Please warn your compatriots. I doubt they would be friendly if I where to approach them about these beasts.

Do not worry, as I have said... they are experienced in these matters. And have no fear, they harbor no ill will to any human being unless they have good reson to. You may feel free to contact and work with them all you wish. I will inform them to keep an eye out for you.
