looking for information on the location of a member

my name is Joe Begay, and i am an officer with the Navajo Nation Police force. I am looking for information regarding the current whereabouts and status of Edward Davion.

Edward was, is my friend, but he has been missing since 2008. He just vanished. His employees at his store arrived to find it still locked up well past the time he usually opened it, and when they checked his apartment above the place, they found it ransacked. from their accounts, his packs of field gear were missing as were most of the books in his special library of research materials. they also said that a hidden safe had been opened, but they were not sure what had been in there. They had called me, since they knew i'd worked with him often. i'd done some basic checking around at the time, but like his employees, i'd expected him to return in a few weeks or months.

it has now been several years. he has been declared dead, and his store is now owned by his employees, his apartment kept empty. we still hold hope that he will return, but all the more conventional approaches to finding him haven't born fruit.

I still try to figure out where he might have gone when i have time, but mostly with no luck. i tried visiting his teachers and other people he had dealt with often, but none of them had seen him or heard from him either. recently, in looking over those papers and documents he had left behind, i had found reference to this site, so i have brought my search here in hopes that i would find someone who might have some clues.

I remember he was involved with skinwalkers but I do not think that is helpful.
I know it has been some time but maybe there is some psychometry that can still reveal some information about his location and condition.

Hello Lt. Joe, welcome to the asylum.

If you have something of his, I'm sure someone on here might be able to help you out.

Kolya - skinwalkers? The Anasazi sort? Dear lordy...

i am fairly sure he did not run afoul of skinwalkers. He and I have dealt with those kind of witches before, and they rarely operate that far south. nor would they be interested in old books filled with Bilagáanakʼehjí magic.. sorry. i mean, magic not of their own. i suppose calling you folk 'Bilagáana' is a tad insulting. even if most of you are white folk. old habits die hard, i am afraid.

it seems likely that he ran afoul of something else. maybe something relating to those books that are missing. perhaps some more mundane enemy wanted something found in those books, and he left to keep them safe? but if so, why would he not send a message to me, or post one here?

i have doubts about that. i brought several of his things to local crystal gazers and hand tremblers, ones who have helped me find lost people before. (i find this article is good in explaining them to outsiders, who do not know as much about the Navajo culture.)

none of them could tell me anything, aside from the fact some unharmonious force was involved. but that could be anything from criminals to evil spirits.

i am aware of that event, though i did not know he had told anyone about it. i was the one who called him in. no wonder he asked me to make this account back then. i'd forgotten about it until now, but i suppose he wanted me on hand to give my perspective on it.

You will not insult me.
Old habits indeed die hard.

Hm, I'm a bit out of your area likely, but I know more than a few specialists in finding people who dwell in the NY/NJ metro area. One of them is currently in mourning but if you'd like, I can put you in touch with some of the others - just watch out for Madam Laveau. She's a bit creepy.

thank you for the offer, but that is several thousand miles out of my way, i am afraid. i operate on the Navajo nation, in the four corners area. north eastern arizona, north western new mexico, and a bit of colorado and utah. myself i live and work out of Window rock, Arizona. Capitol of the Dinetah, and more or less the center of everything.
Edward operated out of Phoenix Arizona, a few hours south.
