That depends upon your preferences. Tblisi is probably the closest embassy and by the far to most pro-American place around. However, that is in Georgia (the country not the State). Tblisi and Moscow basically want to rip each other's throats out so I am not sure how close I can get you to Tblisi.
Getting you to Moscow will of course be easier as we remain inside the Russian Federation. However, that is very far away. Fortunately we have an airport nearby. I am working on getting you a flight for tomorrow to Moscow. But no one on my team can go with you as we gear up for a weekend of Saving the World.
We may be able to get an American embassy person to meet you at the airport. It is hard to get a hold of a real decision maker there... most people I talk do not have the authority or think I am playing a joke.
So either after this weekend when we can guarantee passage or risk it and leave tomorrow.

How about the British or Canadian embassies?

Wherever you want to go, I will get you as far as I can, and then point you in the right direction.
Being an American wandering around in an Islamic jihad battlefield is not something I advise.

I'm wondering if they're any closer/easier to get to. Any friendly embassy will do.

I am not familiar with Tblisi but I imagine all the embassies are in close proximity to one another.
I just got a call. Afghanistan might be an option, too. I do not know how much you trust Russian mercs though...

I trust mercenaries so long as I can pay them.
So, what's your final recommendation?

I would prefer me or Sasha take you somewhere safe and point you in the right direction because I feel responsible for your safety. Any other way potentially puts you in a hostile environment where you do not speak the language and probably have no weapons except your pistol, relying on unreliable people to get you to your people.
Hm. If you need a phone, let me know. You may try to get through to someone at Mannas airbase in Kyrgzstan. The American military has an airbase there. When I called they would not even talk to me. If you can get something arranged for tomorrow great. Not sure how quickly Americans can turn these things around...

I think I can work something out.

Bert I can send you some contact Info, that could speed things up if you get in contact with a U.S. Military Base. Heck it would also work at an embassy, either way it will cut down on the Bullshit Questions, and get you headed back to the States in short order.

I just need a direct (and secure) phoneline to the Base Commander.

by Kolya
In that case we would have to break you back into the airbase
Hmm, I think we can get a secure sat phone. Could take awhile. Otherwise a mobile phone for initial contact is probably a good start.
I do not know shit about this stuff..

I can only guess that breaking in is infinitely harder than breaking out, haha.
Would ya see what you can do for me about a secure connection?

I got a phone for you. Natasha knows where to go.
I can guarantee someone will record the conversation. Keep that in mind....

Undoubtedly. Interesting to note however: I fall back on the Luck O' the Irish part of my heritage a lot seeing as how I rarely drink. I never knew cultural benefits could be traded back and forth like that.

I wonder what I would fall back on... no I don't !

I made contact with an American Airbase in Iraq.
I'm going to try and make my way there soon.
Should something happen to me, I left instructions with KT and Natasha to retrieve my Last Will and Testament from my home.
I'll probably be out of communication with everyone for a few days, so don't declare me anything (except handsome, brave, etc.) right away.
I'd like to say something wise and inspirational but that isn't really my style.

Sigh, why not contact a smuggler? they are aleady used to getting things in and out of that country, and often have access to convincing copies of the appropriate documents to make the trip no more exciting than "would you like peanuts or pretzles sir?".

Because smugglers can only do so much when the Spetnaz are after you. I'm about to board a Merc outfit's transport plane. The thing looks as old as my Pop Pop did before he passed. If I arrive at my destination safely you should hear from me in 12 hours or so.

We covered all the options available. I would rather not endanger Bert's life going underground when I have resources that could get him out safely. The smuggler's life is dangerous, especially in these parts.

I made it to Iraq! I'm about two hours out from the airbase and it'll take about three hours to cover it on foot what with all the shooting at us. You guys'll never believe how fucked up this entire trip has been. We're between firefights right now and I thought someone would be worried about me (though evidently not from the lack of activity here *grumbles*).

Nonesense Bert. you're in a military enviroment, A area you have proven to be adept at, if it was a social dinner at the embassy then I would be concered,
Good to hear you are well don't get killed ny some dumb soldier, or we will have to summon you to torment about being able to take out paranormal critters but not a human with less training and ability.
