As per my previos posts on another forum- I did indeed end up killing him. Such a waste....
The science of any sufficiently advanced society would appear as magic to those less developed...

Ok, you just earned my respect. Last time I went up against a single vampire I came home with a broken arm and a mangled Uzi. I'll tell that story some other time.
