Conservation of Energy.

Where's the energy go when we die?

I theorized that it was reborn in some form.

And with the rapidly dwindling number of animals and plants that it was more likely to be reborn as another human.

I thought it just dissapates inta the ley lines.

True or not, the idea of multiple lives can be pretty dangerous.

People should focus on what they can do in this life, not what may or may not have happened / will happened.

By the same token, imagine if you can tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience from past lives?

Turning 18 and getting the collective knowledge of a hundred lifetimes would be a time saver.

Not really - you'd have a hard time sorting out what was you and what wasn't.

I'm still trying to filter through the stuff Not Me dumped inta my brain, trying to figure out what I remember, what he remembers and what he fabricated.

It was almost better not remembering.

Still, I'd prefer knowing what happened in my past lives.

Imagine what a wealth of information has been lost over the ages.

It not totally clear where the energy goes - and not predictable.

There are the shards of life essences, whole entities, and such things which free-float in our plane. There the several planes of existance, too. There the ley lines they can integrate with. Many variants possible.

I dunno, I'd say we've learned so much over the last few millenia our ancestors would think we are gods.

The word idiot shares the same prefix idio, but not meaning whatsoever.

Absolutely correct.

Technology doesn't equal sheer knowledge or wisdom.

If we're so fucking smart, how come there's only a handful of us that deal with the Supernatural.

I mostly blame our overly effective predacessors and rapid human expansion for eliminating so much of the menance that it effectively ceased to exist.

I blame our continued expansion for forcing what remained in the wilds into the cities.

The more animalistic monsters and demons, that would apply to. The more intelligent ones would always have hid themselves as such and just taken advantage of humanity's growing ignorance to act with more and more strength.

Bert, hi,

Population growth not the same as ingorance growth. Certainly it not augments the intelligent evil's powers!

Balance.

It much higher than just good/evil smart/ignorant. There is good and evil forever. Must be so. Just like must always be predators and prey.

Aren't the concepts of Good and Evil products of Society which is why every culture has taboos unique to it?

Conceptualisation changes, sure, but that not changes True Reality. We can say the Earth is flat and sincerely believe it, but it still roundish. Interestingly, it might not be roundish either. We only perceive roundness.

Humans somewhat unique they can be extremely evil, extremely good, somewhere in between, and change the mind--be reborn, for example. Many creatures are trapped by their nature. Humans also somewhat unique because they can turn their head from the evil, if only because it convenient.

I think KonThaak would say think Light and Dark. That might bring us closer.

Light . . . Dark
Good . . . Evil

I just protect humanity from the monsters . . . the rest I leave to the philosphers and lawyers.

I meant you could grab any person who happened to be crazy in some way and describe them colloquially as a "loon".
