I have the time now bakuramin, if you would care to meet so we can discuss such things as "respect", "manners",and above all else "honor". I understand that these concepts are each foriegn to you, so I will give you the opportunity to rectify your ignorance, it is not your fault that your parents did not have time to teach you anything of "morals", or "kindness". I understand how hard it must have been to have only the television to turn to for friendship.

Anyway, back on topic...

So Hannah, what are your immediate and near-future plans?

Bert_the_Turtle wrote:You're very welcome Hannah. And you don't need to pay me back at all, seeing you and your dad together is more of a reward than anything in heaven and earth.

Awww, isn't he a sweetie? Are you a poet Bert?

I'm still gonna pay y'all back, someday. It wouldn't be right if I didn't. I'd start now helpin' you do dishes, cleanin' your place and such, but y'all live too far away from each other an I really want to get ta know my real Pa and all first.

When I'm older I'll help y'all out someway, I promise.

Bert_the_Turtle wrote:And, uhhh, Holister and yer Dad don't really see eye to eye on very many things.

But he seems like such a nice feller. I'm gonna have ta sit the two of them down and help them sort out their differences.

Shang Li wrote:Welcome to the society, Ms. Hannah, I hope you will find your stay uneventfull. I am not sure if Mr. Caliburn and I are friends, but I do respect him greatly. If you have inherited his determination (some would say stuburness) you will quite likely do well in any endevour you apply it to.

You both have my sincerest apologies for my interruption of your ride home.

Wow, so formal. Pa tells me that most on here call you Master Li . . . but you've said that you don't consider yourself a Master yet. So I will call you Mister Li . . . unless you'd prefer Shang Li, or Shang or Li. Don't you folks put the family name first? In any case, don't call me a Ms. if ya please. If ya have ta be formal, a Miss is most appropriate, but Hannah is preferred.

I get the idea my Pa has gone by several different names since he left home. I usually still call him Mordecai. I ain't tryin' ta be disrespectful to him none, and he knows it. I am still more used ta thinking of him as my big brother than as my Pa.

You didn't really interrupt anythin'. It's gonna take years for me and Pa ta catch up, so a few hours or days here and there aren't a cause for concern.

Hello Ms. Darken. Celeste is a pretty name. Can I call you Celeste?

Are you pretty like your name? I've met a bunch of really pretty women since I left the compound. Natasha and Rose and Seraph and Rain.

Is Ben your thrall 'cause your pretty? Is that how you control him?

Anyway, enough time on this message, so many more to read and respond ta.

Hannah

PS: I'm gonna have ta learn ta type faster.

Despite my protests to the contrary, evidently I am a poet.

And, if you can get your Dad and Holister to see eye to eye I have a job for you negotiating peace in the Middleeast.

Of course.

Hannah wrote:Are you pretty like your name? I've met a bunch of really pretty women since I left the compound. Natasha and Rose and Seraph and Rain.

I . . . well . . . I guess it depends on what the men think, but I have been described as pretty, and . . . I . . . .

Hannah wrote:Is Ben your thrall 'cause your pretty? Is that how you control him?

Um . . . well . . . that is . . . I . . . well, I don't “control” him, exactly, but . . . I . . . he does seem to . . . have an unhealthy attraction for me . . . .

See what I mean about having ta type faster?

Deathblaster . . . I don't know what made you so mean, but could ya not be that way around me. It makes me sad.

Shang Li, just because he's being mean, it doesn't mean you have ta be mean too. But it is nice that you're stickin' up for your friends. I like people who do that.

Well my near future plans are ta help Pa find a new house for both of us. I heard his old house got wrecked, somethin' about rodents. If Pa had a rat problem that bad, he obviously needs my help keepin' his new place clean and tidy.

Over the long term . . . well I never really been away from the compound before - but I like it. I want ta explore and see all the neat places I used ta hear about like Mt Rushmore and the Smithsonian and Disneyland and the Springfield Armoury.

I also want ta start goin' ta school and meet some kids my age. I understand I need ta do a lot of catchin' up before I can enroll. Pa says he'll teach me for now until he can find a good tutor.

Hannah

PS: I'm sure there will be more ta respond to by the time I'm finsihed this.

My name is given here in the way that people here give names. The formality was once in my country a mark of respect, a holdover from times gone by.

You remind me of my son, and daughter, from before the bomb was dropped, of things that I do not often take the time to think of anymore.

Good plans :D

I do believe your Dad is gonna have to have a building constructed to his own specifications. The last one was a veritable fortress but it was lacking in some ways because it was something else before he started using it.

I told y'all there'd be more ta respond too already.

Celeste, it don't matter what the men say. My cousin used ta tell me that he'd rather take a crawfish dancin' than me. A couple months ago he changed his tune and started callin' me pretty. I don't pay attention ta it either way and you shouldn't either.

You do seem nice . . . and you're probably pretty too. I hope I get ta meet you soon. If you're in Washin'ton when I'm done visiting Ben with My Pa I'll get him ta take me ta visit you. Would ya like that?

Hannah

PS: How much more will there be this time?

Maybe we can do sort of an "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" Lazlo style for Ron & Hannah. I'ld help out. Im good at all that home improvement and repair stuff; carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, house wiring, painting, welding, machinist (to a degree). I used to do it on the side mainly weekends and for my own place.

If you need a hand, just ask, as soon as I get out of the hospital, I would love to give you guys a hand.

Hello again

Shang Li, a bomb? That is horrible. When was this? Did the terrorists do it?

I feel so bad for you. I wish I could make it better.

Hannah.

PS: I don't know exactly what y'all beleive, but I'm sure it has a version of a heaven. I'm sure your children are there right now.

I know a good natured architect skilled with Military Fortifications as well as Commercial and residential structures and I'd be more than happy to not only swing a hammer but also help pay to hire professionals to come in.

Hi Ben,

Always more ta respond ta.

I asked Pa if you can help and he told me ta ask ya if you've ever built any bunkers and vaults.

Hannah.

PS: Whats HVAC? Oh, never mind, I looked it up. The internet is neat.

See, I keep saying y'all are really nice folks and I need ta help y'all out to thank ya, then you go and start doing more nice things for me.

How's a girl ta keep up with y'all?

Hannah

PS: Are bunkers and stuff really specialized skills? Doesn't everybody's home have one?

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 5:16 pm
by Bert_the_Turtle
Well, my homes do have bunkers, but I'm paranoid. Get your dad to go rent a movie called Tremors and pay attention to the character called Bert and you'll have a good idea of how I am.

And you'll find that most of the people around here will literally go to hell and back for eachother, just ask Holister, I went to two different demon-dimensions to save his sorry butt (One on one occasion and one just this past Sunday).

Well I have built one or two in my time, mainly for sever weather purposes, but i'll let Bert field this one. :D

Speaking of which Ben, the bunker construction up in Maine (on my patch of land) should be starting as soon as all the ground thaws out. Its a special construction company I use when necessary, and they'll be incorperating some interesting designs I came upon since coming here (Like KT's Runes, rings of salt, silver, and iron, etc.).

Just be careful bout them tunnels Bert, they run all over they place out there.

Never know what the hel your gonna find buried in those things.

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 5:58 pm
by Bert_the_Turtle
Tunnels? Awesome! Maybe they can be expanded into a monorail system.

Tunnels . . . bunkers . . . reminds me of my uncle's tails of Cu Chi

So like Cu Chi - forced us out of Vietnam after all.

Anyhow, so, any plans for rebuilding your home from scratch or are you gonna buy a new place?

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:07 pm
by Ron Caliburn
If I want to build to my specs, I definitely have the perfect place for it.

But I'm also thinking of trying to give Hannah something much more normal.

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:11 pm
by Bert_the_Turtle
Well, I don't think normal is going to cut it. You can have a normal space inside a fortress home, but you can't turn a normal home into a fortress. I thought your last building was nigh impregnable and we know what happened. I think we need to error on the side of paranoia here.

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:14 pm
by Ron Caliburn
Or we can accept that there is ony so well you can be protected and beyond that point you're just pouring buckets into the ocean.

The palce will be defnisble though, no twoo ways about that.

Posted: Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:16 pm
by Bert_the_Turtle
Well, taking the lessons we learned from last time, I think we can work something out. And I've had plans in my head for a long time about covertly armoring a building I'd like to run past you and your archie should you rebuild instead of buy.

I'm always interested in the input.

Well, discussing it on an open forum makes it moot, so when the time comes let me know.
