Where they come from is nowhere near as important as figuring out why they are here in the first place. Each aspect has a reason for what it does, be it simple human pathology or nightmare being from beyond. If it threatens a human being...stop it with extreme predjudice. The hows and whys can be determined at a safer perspective once the action is over.
