I'm paranoid. I don't need a reason to believe anyone will come after me. But talking openly about vampires with the RCC isn't gonna win anyone over.

Paranoia is one thing . . . illogic is another. The Knights Templar and the RCC don't like each other, so it didn't make sense that you'd end up being attacked by them.

Well, if the RCC was dedicated to the destruction of Christ's bloodline, and the Knights Templar were protecting it (or really any scenario you can imagine that would put them at odds) wouldn't you figure the secret society would have plants inside the other?

Sufficient to say, I would be concerned that *someone* would come knocking on my door.

Likewise, but I think you were focusing on the wrong people showing up. The RCC has it's own enforcement division.

Someone knows where the Templars left their stash, but I think they were sufficiently broken.

You really gotta worry about those Swiss pikemen.

Besides, is Christ's bloodline really under threat and does it really need humans to protect it if it were?

They were greedy, not much more than that to them.
