- June 21 - The Summer Solstice occurs in the northern hemisphere at 05:45 UT. This is the longest day of the year and first day of summer.
- June 22 - New Moon.
- July 7 - Full Moon and Penumbral Lunar Eclipse.
- July 22 - New Moon and Total Solar Eclipse. The path of totality will begin in central India and move east through Nepal and China where it will end in the central Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout most of eastern Asia and Hawaii.
- July 28, 29 - Southern Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower.
- August 6 - Full Moon and Penumbral Lunar Eclipse.
- August 12, 13 - Perseids Meteor Shower. One of best showers of the year.
- August 14 - Jupiter at Opposition. A decent pair of binoculars will give a view at least as good as Galileo's, if not better.
- August 17 - Neptune at Opposition. You'll need a powerful telescope to see anything more than a blue dot.
