My name is Amy McBride, and I'm the owner and chief investigator of the Legacy Investigation Agency in and around Chicago and its suburbs. We've been known to travel for the sake of this group. We perform investigations both mundane and paranormal, to the ends of helping those in need.

We're not experts in the field, but we'd be happy to answer any questions you'd like to ask, to the best of our abilities.
In memory of Jacob Bloodbane; may his legacy live on... Protecting the innocents from evils both mundane and supernatural.

Someone from the Big Apple - one of the few places I've been where what's on the streets is weirder once you remove the supernatural element.

Welcome to the boards, let's hope you find the real stories.

Nice to have you here. Looking forward to reading about your investigations.

Do you have a favourite topic (yet)? Had any experiences yourself (yet)?

Be very careful and stick around, please.

So you're doing a supernatural investigation as your story or are you doing a story about supernatural investigators?

Welcome to Lazlo, Ms. Dawes

Whatever the case . . . I extend my welcome too. Lazlo can be an interesting study; and the supernatural as well. But dangerous, too. Please be careful, Ms. Dawes.

Forgive my cynicism Mrs. Dawes, but too often I've seen reporters do what they can to get a story, and often tell the people they interview that they plan to put a good spin on whatever their investigation turns up, only to smear smut across the pages they write and print.

Skepticism is good. It's the only thing that keeps you sane in this field sometimes. It also makes you wonder if you're not crazy, and start to question everything around you until something happens that confirms that you, in fact, are not crazy. Then about the time you start wondering something else happens. It's a vicious cycle really.

Welcome to the Society. Try not to get sucked in too deep.

I will say this though, many of us are family men and women, though some of us are quite beyond the norm. If you're familiar with TAPS, then that would also be a good group to look into. They seem to be in the business of investigating the paranormal as much as the rest of us. However, we take a more firm stand, and seek out the things that go bump in the night, and we bump back. Unlike TAPS though, we don't generally get paid for it.

To see it you have to get in the middle of it.
More often than not, you'll never know anything happened once the dust settles. It just looks like a bunch of freaks playing in the night.

Ms Dawes,

Most of us are fairly private individuals, so don't take it personally or regard it as suspicious if anyone here declines to participate. We'd rather not expose ourselves and our family to ridicule or retribution.

On the other hand, we've been trying to look for more legitimate ways of alerting people if there's any real danger around. She might be able to run the story without trying to make all of us look deranged. :D Maybe we just insist on not using anyone's real names?

Better yet, not to let her have the real names for now.

Until we build up more of a relationship of course.

Even if someone says it's a real name, I'm skeptical.

Like I said, I don't think anyone here is using their real name.

I mean the name that a mage can use to explode your head from the other side of the multiverse.

Ms. Dawes, I’m a little uncertain . . .

Post by Eilonwy Solstice »

Ms. Dawes, I’m a little uncertain of just what you want to investigate, and your methods of obtaining it? Will you be focusing on Lazlo Society’s members, or the “scary supernatural”? Are these just the first of your plans? Will you contact those you wish to look into, or just study them from afar?

Please understand I mean no disrespect. But we have had few investigate reporters here, and Randy was before my time. Please be careful . . . will you alert us of your leads?

I think she's already revealed her journalistic bias in another thread.

Hopefully she'll still alert us if she goes poking around in the darkness and shadows just in case they poke back.

I dunno, maybe a good poke would get her focused on the right story.

As long as it's not a lethal poke, I'll agree.

I'd really hate for something to jump out and chomp off her head.

I meant it, too. ;)

It's just over freezing point in Moscow right now. Feels like March. I'm putting together some information for you, including some information you'll need to supply me so we can perhaps expedite the visa application process ... and, of course, what to wear.

This may be, but I don't feel like reading long-winded stuff unless its an AAR, or a profile on something I'm after. Then the more information I have, the better. Short, simple answers save time, headaches and most importantly, annoyance.
