Who or what is this Nain Rouge and why does its presence invoke such hostility? The name does sound familiar, but certainly it could not be the same creature I have heard of in Celtic folk lore.

I know of this pest. For that is all that he is. He was cast out by his own brother for cheating at gambling.

His vast power resisdes in the few trinkets he possesses, but what does one fear from some ilusions, a gem that only makes you see red, and a bauble that summons a Jhinn.

Even his "vast" magic is quite limited to the ability to call forth Hell Hounds. Yet another minor threat.
