Attacked by Voice
I think the translation of the Mordecai's last words got the Voice's attention. He sent his goons after men this afternoon.
I was taking a nap while the translation software was doing it's thing. I was had one of my dream visions. In the dream, my front door to my home was kicked in by a shadowy figure. I could see it moving in, creating darkness wherever it walked. It made it's way up to the bedroom where I was at and hovered over me before touching my face. The darkness slowly spread where it touched until I was consumed and vanished. I then saw it go into the open saferoom I have and take the book. From the place it sat darkness spread and covered the room and my vision.
I woke with a start, and instantly felt the presence nearby. I moved quickly, taking up my pistol and keying in the lockdown command into the saferoom door. I had only seconds to avoid my fate.

Along the way to the hallway, I grabbed the shotgun, a bullet-proof vest and my gun belt. There was gear distributed on the belt and vest so I was as prepared as I was going to be. I holstered the pistol and readied the shotgun.
The creature came in not quite like I had seen, instead of breaking down the door it sort of oozed underneath it. The light in the living room started to dim down with it's presence, until there was only a dark corner where it stood.

I think it was very similar to that creature. Once I got a good look at it, I thought much the same. I remembered that bullets didn't effect it much, and I was a little confused how The Voice managed to get it into my house during the day. I think somehow a portal had been opened to my door so it didn't have to travel in the light.
My reaction was quick. The blinds were closed and I reached out and yanked them down. Sunlight flooded into my half of the room and the creature shrank back a little from it. As I was starting to believe I might be okay, it started to slither it's way across the ceiling where the sun didn't touch. I started backing up.

Whatever it was, I fired a shotgun blast into it without effect. I realized quickly I was not prepared to fight it and did the only option left, I ran. As I went down the hallway, I dropped a flashbang behind me. I figured the intense light would at least stop it for a few moments while I grabbed what I would need. I also tore down or opened as many blinds I as passed, creating as much light as possible in the place.
When the flashbang went off, the creature screamed either in pain or anger. I wasn't looking, to be sure. I grabbed the gear bag I have prepared for such emergencies and tossed another flashbang behind me. Once it cleared the door to my room, I slammed it shut and locked it. I turned a desklamp and pointed it at the door, trying to remove any shadows from it. The second flashbang went off and the creature screamed again.
It was time to get out of here.

I entered the safe room and sealed the door behind me. I quickly added my laptop and the book to the bag I was carrying. Then I turned my attention to the other four computers sitting there. As much as I hated doing it, I started the process of wiping and frying the drives on them. By the time they finished, there would be nothing but scrap metal inside.
I turned and moved the trunk in the corner. The panel was running and I quickly had my PDA beam the correct code into it. The mechanism started working and the trapdoor swung up revealing the tunnel underneath. There are advantages to having your home in a rural community, I just never thought I would need to use it.
I climbed in and the lights came on. I transmitted the close command on the door and started moving again. I hoped that the two sealed doors would slow it down.

what? He's complementing himself on a job well done on a failure! Kind of like a certain president... >.>
It's pathetic, really, I don't know what you're getting all bent out of shape over.
I forgive you for wanting to kill me?

Put everything into what you're doing, use everything you've got, or I'm afraid you won't live to regret it.

If it is any sort of consolation prize. He has had me on the run since the attack. This thing does not die easily and it seems to be magically tracking me somehow. I have tangled with it and it definitely getting stronger.
I am having to find places that are really lit up to get rest while running at night. Even then it has been a close call these last few times, and it starting to make the lights dim even at those places.

Josh is already harboring refugees, you should look to getting to him, or... *ahem* or SOMEONE... I think that there's gotta be someone who can help! Don't go giving up on us...
