Re: Blood Moon

Dad, wow. I knew you and Darcy had fought it out with the hunters, but I didn't realize you'd shut them out from the get go. I figured you might have had to think about it first. I'm really proud of you. I know I put you in a difficult spot with MJ. I'll admit I had more than just her safety in min...

Re: The Only Way to Abolish War is to Make Peace Heroic

Because peace is not an absence of war. It is an absence of conflict and struggle. War may be a form of conflict, but it is not the only form of it and it is probably the most preventable form of conflict. It's regrettable that something that should be so easy to prevent happens so frequently. Hann...

Re: The Only Way to Abolish War is to Make Peace Heroic

There are struggles other than war. Some are external and some are internal.

Peace is a freedom from those struggles. Being at ease with oneself, the world and your place within it.

Re: Hypothetical Scenario

Indeed not all children are treated equally, which is why this process is filled with troubles. So, while Kolya's protocols make sense, there is a point in which the AI, like a child, must leave its home and begin to explore the world. When that happens, it's the basic upbringing of the AI is going...

Re: Hypothetical Scenario

I think in the original scenario were were dealing with a true AI, one that had evolved to the point where it was no longer constrained by its original programing. That being said, even once free of those limits, the original programming of the AI will likely play a significant factor in its decisi...

On a more serious note, actually have been doing some research, but not a lot out there really. It seems that infernal fruits are not that popular of an ingredient . . . in the willing anyway.

Re: Things that go bump in the night.

Thank you for the interesting read Ben. I am sure your local expert can confirm this for you, but the fey can and do often take the form of small animals when they are in our world. In fact its often easier for them to maintain their presence outside of their home realm if they adopt the form of so...

You've been gone a long time Ben. Some of us, indeed most of us, have changed. I'm no longer a little girl. I'm studying sports medicine at college and happily married. I am going out and rescuing people now, rather than being the perennial victim waiting for help. I have much greater control of my...

Well if Lycanthropy is transmitted through a bite it makes sense that blood or saliva (and possibly other bodily fluids) could be a medium for transfer under the right circumstance.

Dad, don't you get started. Sister, if there were a unified governmental structure to address, we might be able to organize a treaty or something, but as far as I've been able to determine, they haven't reached that level of organization and centralization. Had they, I think certain tragedies may h...

Re: The Only Way to Abolish War is to Make Peace Heroic

The first werebeasts I met happened to also be two my closest childhood friends and are still very close to my heart. Others since have been of a more varied in reception. There is a lot we don't know about them, including how many might actually be out there. I am sure that those in the werebeast ...

I'm also glad to know that you and Mr. Blue are getting along. He's hard not to get along with, of course, but it's still nice to hear.

Dad, It's just the sort of angst you're relishing that I was hoping to avoid. The way humans treat animals, by caging them, putting them on display, forcing them to do tricks, subjecting them to experiments and mass euthanasia . . . think about what that looks like to a being who identifies as much...

Cynthia, I think you are making evidence fit your theory rather than creating a theory that fits the evidence. We unfortunately have no physical evidence of when Therianthropes actually came to be. We have no fossil evidence because their remains are physically identical to animal or human remains....

Interesting theory. How do you account for the presence of anthropomorphic animals and shape shifters in human mythology that are supposed to be older than human kind and are often credited with such acts as providing humans with the secrets of magic, creating humans or even creating the universe. ...
